Just a quick update, I talked to my boss, and got everything straightened out with my hours, and decided to take the job at least until calving season...
I started today, and although it wasn't hard getting used to everything there again, it was REALLY hard leaving Wyatt with Lance for the day... I really admire all you girls who have been working for so long with babies at home, I had a mini meltdown on my way into town lol I was a mess.
When I got there I job shadowed for most of the morning, and around lunch I asked to see the schedule (for the 4th time since early October) and saw that she had me scheduled for 10 days in the next month that I would need to find a sitter for... so much for 1 day a week. I knew she planned to work me full time for a week, which is fine... but that was way more than we agreed on... especially since 2 of those days were 3 hour shifts, which isn't worth my gas, much less a baby sitter.
So I grew a pair and brought her a calendar with Lance's days off marked on it and said that I can't work less than 6 hours in a day... I also told her that unless she is willing to work with me, I can't afford to work for her. She took it surprisingly well, which made me happy because I had half a mind to quit on the spot before then... She reduced my baby sitter days to 6 and agreed to work with Lance's schedule (again...)
We'll see how long this job lasts, but for now it is looking up
Re: First Day Back at Work
Good for you :-) I hope your schedule is more accommodating next month.
I hate having to leave D but knowing that he is with my mom makes it 100 times better... I would really struggle leaving him with a sitter or at daycare.
Glad you were able to get things straightened out (for now at least
GL with the job. I hate leaving Maggie, but I guess I don't have a choice in the matter at this point.
It's so frustrating when the person who does the scheduling disregards your requests/what was promised to you. Hopefully they can get it together and it all works out.
I can imagine that after almost a year of being home with Wyatt it would be really hard to leave him.
Totally unrelated, but made me think of you guys: Somone on the bump was saying that they named their son Wyatt because they had a cowboy themed nursery and wanted a "cowboy name". (insert eye roll smiley face here, which I can't figure out how to do on my phone)
