We are having about 18 people (14 adults, 4 kids) over for a big Thanksgiving dinner this Saturday. We invited people to start showing up around 2 and dinner would be served between 4:30-5.
Knowing my friends, I have a couple that will show up right at 2 and others that will be there just before the food is set to come out.
My Question:
If you were someone who showed up at 2, would you want/expect apps to be out?
I'm torn, and we have so much food being made already for dinner I'm not sure if it's worth making apps as well.
Thanks!

Re: Menu Help
If dinner is at 4:30/5 but you invited people to come at 2 yes you should have some kind of appetizers. Your guests likely will not eat a large meal before coming over but they will get hungry sitting around for 2.5-3 hours waiting for dinner to be ready.
I would suggest doing simple things like a veggie tray, cheese and crackers and maybe a dip with some chips.
My mentality with hosting has always been be ready feed them from the minute they walk in to the minute they walk out.
I would want/ expect a veggie tray, bread and some sort of cold dip, and a crudite tray if those are common around you (olives, etc.).
I'd probably bring out hot apps about 3:15-30- satay skewers are what I always do, plus a hot dip (spin art dip maybe).
Stand up for something you believe in.
I was about to ask you for a recipe for spin art dip thinking it was some fancy new recipe...I then realized that you abbreviated spinach artichoke dip and felt dumb :palm to forehead:
