DH and I had dinner at Roy's on Saturday night and weren't overly impressed. In fairness, it was a late dinner and we ordered meat, which I'm sure isn't their specialty. If you've had dinner there, what did you think? We've had apps there before and really liked them, but the entrees - eh were only OK.

I'm a really tough judge of anyplace that's supposed to be "nice" - but DH and I had one more or less next door to our last apt in NY and would go once in awhile for a convenient, safe bet good meal. It always struck me as a chain "nice" restaurant with nothing particularly memorable about it as far as ambience or menu. Nothing to complain about - just nothing to rave about either.

Ditto this- the only one I have ever been to was the one in NYC, my first job was rather close to it, and it is where we would go for drinks/apps if one of the corporate big-wigs was in town and would take us all out after work. It was a nice place and convenient to my old job- otherwise I never would have gone there. I have avoided the one in Baltimore since it's a chain and we have more than our fair share of "nice" chains 2 miles from our house.
I've only been there once and I got their fish sampler or something which I did really like but I remember getting that because I didn't really see anythign else on the menu that super appealed to me. But the sampler was excellent I remember.
I wont go back though because we had such weird service.......it just turned me off. I know that it's a different experience than, say, a Ruth's Chris or the like, but it's still pretty pricey and I expected better service (I told the waitress their salmon was amazing and she said "really? I don't like it." That was just one thing.) It wasn't bad service per se but it was much weirder than you'd expect
H got a steak and he loved it but after he's had some wine he loves anything if its food.
I got macadamia crusted mahi mahi and didn't love it. I did LOVE the chocolate lava cake though. Mmmmmm. Good stuff
