weekly book post

I do these on Monday nights so everyone can read them on Tuesday. I am doing it earlier tonight than usual b.c. I don't know if I will be online later.

I finished What Came First by Carol Snow.  It was good and interesting and I learned a lot about sperm donors, IUI, and IVF.  I love her books.  I went to the library today and got Lucky Me by Debra Borden.  I read an excerpt in Redbook yeras ago (like in 2005) but never got around to reading it but remembered the title and found it through google and put it on my to read list.  I am only on like page 5 and it is slow so far but I think it will pick up! I also got at the library Sweet Valley Confidential and The Second Time Around by Beth Kendrick. I have read two of her books and like them.  We will see if I get these all read in two weeks.

Re: weekly book post

  • I am about 70% done with a book named "The Kitchen House". It is set in the late 1800's in mostly southern Virginia. A girl from Ireland is brought onto a plantation as an indentured servant at 8 years old. It's been a pretty good read.

This is on my to-read list!  Glad you like it.

I am reading Looking For Alaska by John Green.  It is a YA book.  I am enjoying the fact that it is written from a guy's point of view.  It is good so far.  I am looking forward to what happens.  I know it gets intense.

  • I just read "Room" this week. I've been wanting to read it for awhile and I finally got to it. It was a really quick read, and interesting because it's told from a 5 year old's point of view.

I loved this book!  But the whole breast-feeding thing did creep me out!

  • I started re-reading the Vampire Academy series. I'm on the fourth out of six...I'm addicted. I seriously have no life when I read these because I can't put them down. Ugh.
