Because of an incident last week, I've talked DH into looking into a security system earlier than had we planned.

Do you have one, and if you do who is it through?

Roughly how much did it cost to install (assuming you had it installed) and whats your monthly fee.

We have one.... I know the one in my condo costed about $99 to install but I needed very little devices. If you do wireless vs wired, etc and what kind of system you want can vary on the cost of the install. The monthly amounts also change from like $25 a month plus... if you want iphone monitoring or just basic... there are a ton of factors.

We have ADT and are happy with them. We didn't have to pay for install and I'm not sure on the monthly fee, we just negotiated it down. We also have a discount on home owner's insurance.

We started with Brinks, who became Broadview, who became ADT. We have the basic package and it costs $38 per month. Two keypads and all exterior doors are wired. I can't remember what the installation fee was, but we did need to get a permit from AA County to have it installed and used a coupon for buy one keypad, get one free. Also came with yard/window signs. Sometimes the signs are enough of a deterrent. Price is really dependent upon how many doors/windows are wired and what kind of extras you want- video, wireless entry, etc.

We have ADT. We went through an independent contractor to save the installation cost. The actually devices cost less too. It is still monitored by ADT though. All of that after the installation is the same. We pay under $50 a month.

After an incident that happened at my friend's house we ended up getting a security system earlier this year.

We have Vector security with sensors on doors and windows as well as motion detection. We pay about $45 a month. No set up cost, most of it is wireless so it's a quick installation as well.
