This week's questions:
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week?
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year?
3.) We all have them- a "I'll never list." If you're a first time mom, perhaps you judge mom's at the mall who are letting their kid {blank}. If you're a veteran mom, what used to be on your list that you did anyway? (Not the biggies like spanking, etc. I'm talking about the little stuff like sleeping in bed with you).
4.) Anything else to share?
Re: Babes With Bumps
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week? Pretty good. The RLP is intense... but other than that I don't have any complaints. I saw my MFM yesterday and both babies are weighing in at 1.7 pounds which is awesome news. Both have good fluid & otherwise things are looking good. Next week is my last week of no appointments- then I start going weekly!
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? A Kindle case/light, a photo box, rechargeable batteries for my flash, bath sheets... I'm exciting.
I'd really like an iPhone but it's not happening.
I used to cringe when my sisters kids dropped food on the floor and then ate it. Yeah, you get used to it. Those damn puffs never all make it in the mouth! Plus bed-sharing- which we won't be doing this time for obvious reasons.
4.) Anything else to share?
Our crazy, wonderful life
Tiff, can you update mine? We found out last week that we're having a boy.
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week?
I feel great. No milestones changes in symptoms, or appointments this week. We just had the a/s last week.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year?
Well, my family doesn't really exchange gifts for the holidays (starting next year, the baby will be the only one getting gifts). A date night with DH would be a nice holiday gift.
I feel bad, but I haven't really thought about this yet. I am a first time mom. I have a few friends who have kids and they seemed very obsessive when their babies were born. Then I have a few friends who also have kids, and they seemed very leniant with stuff, and their kids seem just fine.
4.) Anything else to share?
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week?
I can't sleep for more than 20 minutes in a stretch, so the overwhelming tiredness is getting to me. I got a cold a few weeks ago and the cough won't go away. I pulled muscles on my side/ribs on both sides, so I can't lie on my sides, of course can't lie on my belly and back/muscle pain makes just being on my back for a few minutes unbearable. Add nightly heartburn and the fact that Alex is having major sleeping issues again, makes everything much more difficult. Enough whining.
Other than that, everything is going well pregnancy wise. Another appointment next week. I'm not sure what that one will entail since my appointments are about 5 days off from what they're billed as (Monday is my "34w appointment, eventhough I'll hit 34w tomorrow). So I may be getting the strep b test at that one or the next one.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year?
Kitchen stuff mainly. Since manternity leave is unpaid for me, and we have to put Alex in daycare for another day during the week, we're going cheap this year. I have a lot of camera stuff and an external memory on my "wish list", but that's for much later than Christmas.
I said I'd never let LO sleep in our bed, and after 8w she was in her crib in her room. Now, some mornings I wish she would sleep in our bed so I could get a few extra minutes. She'll only sleep on the couch though.
I didn't think I'd let LO watch as much TV as I do. I grew up with it as my babysitter (literally), and I never realized how much I have it on. Thankfully she isn't as into it as anything more than background noise mainly.
I said I wouldn't have a girly girl princess, but she totally is. She loves dresses, jewelry, princesses, etc. I try to encourage other things, but she always goes back to the princess style things. Ugh!
4.) Anything else to share?
I'm in the process of changing "Alex's room" to the "girls' room". I can't wait for it to all come together.
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week?
I am nauseated as all get out. Constantly. I'm on both Phenergan and Zofran. I remember it sucking last time, but maybe I feel like it sucks more this time because I have a toddler to chase. I just wish it would go away. My house is a disaster because any time I do anything vigorous, I throw up violently and feel miserable. I just want to clean my house and feel productive again.
No appointments coming up, but we had the milestone of seeing our little one on the screen during our first ultrasound! 160 beats per minute, and we were able to hear the heartbeat as well. Amazing.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year?
I haven't even started to think about it. AND I have a birthday coming up. I'm not on the ball at all.
3.) We all have them- a "I'll never list." If you're a first time mom, perhaps you judge mom's at the mall who are letting their kid {blank}. If you're a veteran mom, what used to be on your list that you did anyway? (Not the biggies like
I agree with Jill, I have the tv on more than I thought I would. But, it really is background noise as she described.
4.) Anything else to share?
Judybruin found out she's having a boy :-)
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week? Aquatic therapy for my back has been helping. No appointments this week, other than PT.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? skillets and pots for the kitchen, alarm clock (I'm still using one from my childhood)
I am really getting nervous about this whole "caring for a helpless little baby" thing. I'm not ready. I wish he would just stay in there for, like, four more months. It's safer in there.
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week? I am feeling wonderful! I'm sleeping pretty good and moving around relatively well. I've also been nesting like crazy. Almost all of our closets have been cleaned out and organized. I am also plugging away at my baby to-do list. I have an appointment tomorrow, I think it's the appointment where the c/s is actually scheduled even though it's been unofficially set for 12/22 since my 5 week appointment.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? I sent my DH the link for a necklace that several of you girls have pinned. He acted like he would get it for me since he accidently bought an iPod the other day on ebay and said that I can buy something to make up for it. I am also hoping for a video baby monitor, socks and underwear. I know, not fun gifts, but they are things I need.
I thought I wouldn't let Kodi watch tv or at least very little of it. I managed to make it to 2 years before I discovered that it makes a great distraction when I need to get things done. We only watch PBS so the shows are educational and he seems to learn a lot from them. I think it also helps fuel his imagination. Still, I admit he watches too much tv. I blame it on living in small town where there's absolutely nothing to do.

1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week? Still feeling good. Had my last appt Friday and everything looks good. Doc told me to start walking since I've gained 18lbs. My mom told me she was huge with all three of her kids, so we'll see if the walking matters. (probably doing things like not eating mostly carbs would help too
) Dreaded GTT is the 29th
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? I'd like a Vera Bradley turn lock wallet that I can throw in the diaper bag (but my MIL is being passive aggressive saying she can't find it in the pattern I want instead of saying she doesn't want to spend that much - irritating b/c DH would totally get it otherwise), a new watch, a plant stand that lines up with my DR table so I can get plants out of the soon-to-be play room
My plan is to try and not punish kids when they are behaving well. Like kids who might be entertaining themselves in the store, but aren't obnoxiously loud or running around like monkies. I've seen a lot of parents get on to kids for not behaving like adults which I think is totally inappropriate. We also hope to keep our furniture from being a jungle gym. Mostly, however, I'm pretty flexible and DH is not so it will be interesting to see what the house rules actually evolve to be over time.
4.) Anything else to share? I'm ordering a glider on Friday!! BRU has them at 20% in store right now so I can get one that is tall enough for me at a reasonable price! DH still really wants me to check out rocking chairs, but I am super not interested....
::gulp:: Jo, how did we get to the top so fast??
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week?
Still feeling really good. Little man is starting to drop, so while I can breathe easier, I have a LOT of pressure down low and I feel like am waddling. Lovely.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year?
Hmmm I found these Uggs boots I LOVE (and I hate Uggs normally) and a watch I want. That's all I have come up with so far.
I am currently struggling with the whole "coming into my room to sleep" thing. Jack has been getting up around 3ish every morning, walking into my room, climbing into bed with me, and going to sleep. The rational part of me wants to break that habit right now, but being so close to the end of my pregnancy, I need my sleep.....and if I was to gate him in his room, or force him to go back to sleep in his own bed, he would cry and I would be awake for an hour trying to soothe him. So, for now, I am just letting it be. It's not that I have any sort of a problem with co-sleeping, it's just something that I don't prefer (he is a restless sleeper) and with the new baby coming....Jack isn't going to be able to do this much longer.
4.) Anything else to share?
Weekly appt tomorrow - fingers crossed for more dilation and maybe some effacement too!!
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week?
Feeling okay, some back pain, got sick once last week, but otherwise, good. Next appointment isn't til after Thanksgiving-viability!
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? Stupid stuff like some books, maternity clothes, hedge trimmer, etc. but mostly I would like some of the bigger baby stuff that we probably won't get from a shower. Wish items would be a iPad or Kindle Fire but we don't need those things.
Honestly, I think I'm open to most things-I'm trying to be laid back during this whole thing and hopefully that will continue into child-rearing, but I guess my hope is that I'll never have undisciplined children without a semblance of a routine. I love my niece and nephew but they have no rules and no routine and it hurts THEM.
4.) Anything else to share? We are really struggling with a girl name...
I was the same exact way. Inside babies are way easier to take care of. BUT, the good news is that you'll figure it out. They really aren't as fragile as they seem and you're the only Mom they have so they aren't comparing you to anyone else
My biggest fear was the newborn stage but I can tell you that some days I WISH Jane was like that again. Eat, sleep, poop, REST. Yea, you get less sleep and that sucks, but chasing a toddler is freaking exhausting too.
You need to know that you are AMAZING. Seriously. I give you so much credit. I was really sick (and it's not all gone yet) and I kept thinking that there was NO WAY I could handle it with a toddler at home. And you are! Don't worry about your house or anything for a bit-all those things can wait. Take care of yourself and Natalie and call it a day! That is enough to handle right now-do not be hard on yourself!
My DH hasn't figured this out yet. When we watch my niece and nephew we do man to man defense and he always chooses the 3 year-old and I happily take the immobile one.
I don't know how this happened Katie...I feel like it was last month that I was calling Sam to tell him I was pregnant! I thought I would have all this time to get things done...and I haven't gotten any of it done! On Sunday I FINALLY bought some fabric to make a quilt for this little girl...but I still haven't managed to get it started!
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week?
I have my last appt on Friday...then my c-section on Monday! As much as I would like to have this baby early, I really need my mom to be here to watch Marshall when we go to the hospital, and she doesn't get here until Saturday night. But the good news is that I don't seem to be showing any signs of anything happening.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year?
I have been trying to think of some things to tell Sam...because I am horrible at coming up with lists! I need some more Bath & Body Works stuff...but so far that is all I've come up with. I've told him in the past that he can never go wrong with Husker gear for me, but he says he's done that in the past and doesn't want to do it again.
The main thing for me is tv watching. I was never in the camp of "My kids will never watch tv", but I feel like I have the tv on more than I expected to. But like other ladies have said, it's more just background noise. Like right now Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on, but he's sitting on the floor looking at books.
4.) Anything else to share?
Does somebody want to update the board for me after I have this little girl? I do still have Nicole's number, so I could always just let her know.
I can definitely update the board for you. If that is ok with you, send me a FB message so we can exchange numbers
LOL good luck with that one. You will be amazed at how quickly kids pick up songs and dances and words - without you even realizing it. I make up songs all the time, sing them to Jack once, and by the second time he is singing with me. They are SPONGES.
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week? Feeling great. My energy is definitely coming back! No appointments till the end of the month.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? A kindle, more of the perfume I wear, a keirug, itunes gift cards
I can't think of too many right now but I do plan on not giving my child sweets for the first year at least. I am going to try and keep everything healthy for as long as I can but reasonably so. I realize somethings are unavoidable.
4.) Anything else to share?
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week? I am feeling terrible. I know I was nowhere near this sick with Claire. Maybe that's a good thing or maybe it means we're having a boy this time. Who knows! My first appointment is Friday afternoon. I couldn't be more anxious and nervous.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? nothing...I just want this baby to be healthy and I want to be able to spend a $hit ton of money on this baby!
I will never use one of those leash things. I also say I will never let the baby sleep in bed with us, but I could definitely see myself breaking that one.
4.) Anything else to share? First tri goes by soooo slowly!
Can you change my due date to June 3? Thanks!
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week? I am exhausted this week. I can barely keep my eyes open. Unfortunately I'm insanely busy at work (I'm behind in my grading) so there's not rest for the weary. I had a dating ultrasound last wed. and they moved my due date. No other appts until Dec.
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? I have no idea. I should really start thinking about this...
Uh, I haven't really thought about it.
4.) Anything else to share? We've slowly been telling family and friends over the past week. I think by the end of next week just about all our good friends should know. We'll probably post on FB around Thanksgiving.
My Blog
1.) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or changes in symptoms you'd like to share? Any appointments coming up this week? Tired, achy & full, nothing new there. But overall pretty good. My dr has me taking Prilosec for my heartburn & that's taken care of it completely, which has been amazing. Next appt is on Thursday
2.) What's on YOUR holiday wish list this year? I honestly don't even know yet.... DH & I just bought a king sized mattress so that's our big gift to one another this year. From my family I have no idea... clearly I need to start thinking.
Swore we'd never put her in bed with us, yet the few times she's been miserably sick or up all night with an ear infection we knew it was the only way we'd all be able to get half a decent night's sleep, so that went out the window. Granted it's only been a handful of times, but we always said never. And like Nikki said, Mads watches more tv than we'd planned.... Thomas the Train in the morning while we both get ready for work & then Disney or an Elmo dvd (the same one every time) in the afternoon while I get changed out of my school clothes & pick up the kitchen, etc.
4.) Anything else to share?
