Here's the situation.
I applied to a hospital. This is the same hospital that one of my professors from my pharm tech course works at. H had the idea to email him. I think it's a good idea too, I just have no idea how to approach him or what to say. I have no idea how the pharmacy works in this hospital or if Gary even has any say or influence in the hiring process.
Thoughts? Should I send the email? If so, what should I say?
TIA.
Re: A job question
I definitely agree to email but would be careful with my wording...if you make it sound like you're wanting him to put a word in for you without him bringing it up first it may put him off.
Are there any questions you do have about that pharmacy?
I would try and word it that way of saying you recently applied and since he works there wondered if he could answer x,y, and z. He'll still get the hint and then if he's the type to put a word in (some folks just aren't and it has nothing to do with your qualifications or if they think you would be a good fit) he'll probably respond with answers and then say he'll put a word in.
