I'm killing time on a conf call and was surfing around the Nest, and noticed, as I have in the past, the Trash to Treasures board.

Does it strike any of you as odd that most (if not all) of those postings are for wedding-related materials - most especially, dresses? I ponder this bc ... srsly? we're on the Nest bc we're already married. What's the market here? Why isn't this a forum board on the Knot?

We've all seen posts here from newly married women who didn't even know TN existed bc they were only on TK before marriage...so they wouldn't think to come here to look for a cheap(er) wedding dress, or centerpieces, etc.

Andy Rooney's dead; apparently I'm taking his place as the Cranky Old Lady of The Nest. (my eyebrows are not as bushy, though, thankyouverymuch.)

I remember from my time on TK that no one could ever find the trash to treasure board because it was located on TN instead of TK, which - as you said - makes no sense. I guess at least a few people managed to track it down though, because I did sell a few things there after my wedding.

I somehow found this board when I was engaged and tried finding things to buy on trash to treasure, but I agree, it would make SO much more sense to have it on TK.

There are a lot of girls on TK who are actually on TN. I think some of the community boards are shared.

I definitely agree with you! I had a lot more luck on the knot local boards when trying to sell things from the wedding. I really don't think I ventured over here until after the wedding, and would not have even thought to look for wedding items on the Trash to Treasure board.
