Re: Bumps and Babies!

  • I think my bump is starting to pop!  It's sort of in the way, and I realize this is only the beginning.  Here's a shot I snapped this morning for Hump Day Bump Day, it's dark, grainy and not exactly in focus, but it's the best I've got right now!

    image

I haven't felt any movement yet, so that's next on the list of things to look forward too.  I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow, so I guess that's soon.

My next appointment is Nov 22nd, and I hope to find out more about when our anatomy scan will be.  I want to find out the sex, Derek hopes the baby won't give up the goods so we'll have to wait.

My only concern right now is limiting weight gain to a reasonable level.  I think I'm up a bit too much for my comfort in the last few weeks and I'm fairly certain it's directly correlated to the fact that I've just been a couch potato lately.  So, going forward I need to focus more on keeping moving.  Feel free to yell at me!

  • Raynes - yay you have moved past the bloat, and are starting with your bump.  What a cute little bump! I can't yell at you since I gained 75 lbs with my pregnancy.

    Updates on the boys:

They amaze me every day.  They have officially discovered how much they like to run.  Before they would "chase" each other, but now it is seriously chasing each other. It's funny to see their little bodies run.

Christian is adding to his vocabulary, his new thing is "oh god" or oh ga.

Zach still pretty much only says, "mama" and "dad." Trying not to get concerned yet since he babbles a lot, but it's so hard not to compare him to his brother.

They both can recognize and bring their balls to me. Zach loves to do it so I will throw it after.  They continue to play nonstop with their mega blocks, and I am just waiting to twist an ankle from tripping over one.

  • We finally got back to some sleep schedule last night. I'm hoping it's a sign of good things to come. He's also been back at daycare, which seems to help tucker him out. He's finally giggling, or some semblance of a giggle. It's probably my favorite thing at the moment. He's most smiley when it's naked time, which I think is also hilarious. Nothing else to report really.

And, you're totally playing fetch with you son, that's hilarious!

I gained 72, and I've lost almost 80...if that helps.

  • I gained 70, and I've lost 80.  I started overweight though (I'd like to lose another 30 pounds).  And I totally took advantage of being pregnant with daily ice creams, which I hope not to do next time.

Emmett's such a boy!  He now likes to spit Embarrassed Of course Matt thinks it's hilarious.  And I have to admit it was cute the first time...not so much anymore.

He LOVES tractors and ducks.  If he's crabby I can almost always distract him with one of the two.

He's been teething really bad the last couple days.  Long nights, lots of crying and fussing.  Yesterday he actually slammed his bedroom door shut on me to keep me out.  Little boy gets his temper and stubbornness from both of us!

I'm 32 weeks today so 8 more to go (give or take). I can feel her move a ton these days. Sometimes they are pretty strong kicks and jabs but that's ok with me. I got a gift certificate for a prenatal massage for my birthday that I think I'll be using in the next couple of weeks. So excited for that! I'm officially up 20 lbs today so I hope that I can keep it under control the next couple of weeks. I would ideally like to stay under 30 and that's where the dr thinks I should be as well. Too bad I have no idea what will power is these days?!

I have my last baby shower on Saturday and I can't wait. I know that this little one will not need for anything! She is already so spoiled. I also had a mini maternity photo session last Sunday so I am (not so) patiently waiting to see those. I'll make sure to post when I get them.

Other than that the nursey is all but done, just needs the last few finishing touches. I'll post pics when those are all done.

Sorry that got so long. I hope all you mama's and soon to be mama's are doing great!

  • Things have been pretty rough the last couple days and last night I think we finally got back on the right track. He had been up all day and all night. If he was awake he was screaming most of the time. I felt so bad for him because nothing I could do would help. Randal hasn't been home much due to work and rehearsal so every time Edmund sees him he gets all excited and then pissed when he leaves. He just wants his daddy and daddy hasn't had much time for him.

We suspected an ear infection but whatever was causing him to stay up all the time and not sleep seems to have passed. Last night he went down at about 12:30am and woke up about 4 when I moved him to bed with me and he slept until H got home from work instead of being up all night.

He has his post op appointment on Monday with his plastic surgeon so we will get to see and hear from the surgeon how he is healing. To us it looks great but you never know. That should be his last doctors appointment for everything until after the new year and I'm really hoping it is.

    image

Not the best image but this is how happy he gets when one of the kitties is around.

  • I guess it's time I post an update....

We had our our NT Scan on Monday, and while I'm still waiting for bloodwork to come back (althought they said no news is good news and wont call otherwise.. I still might call my OB for my preliminary odds), everything looked good.  NT measurement was where it should be, "normal"... heart is still beating (of course my biggest fear) and was actually measuring ahead by 2 days.  Baby also was so stubborn and wouldnt move to its profile to get the shot, the tech was getting so frustrated.. finally he gave it up for a quick sec and she snapped it.

Baby B's sac is shrinking... starting to look crescent moon shaped.  I'm actually not sure if he's smaller in size or if it's just the ratio of Baby A getting bigger... but no concerns with that really... Baby A is doing his/her thing and that all that matters at this point.

No bump yet, though some of my smaller jeans are getting uncomfortable so I've been sticking the to ones that don't squeeze.  And I treated myself to my first baby purchase after the NT Scan since I haven't let myself even look at anything baby related in the last 12 wks.  So I went it for and bought a seriously overpriced Serena and Lily throw pillow that I hope to decorate the nursery around (I loved it since last pregnancy and am so happy I might be able to use)...

  • Not much to report after our scare.  I have my next appointment on Monday and I am both excited and nervous.  I'm can't wait to see the baby, but am scared that there won't be a HB or there will be something else wrong.

I also really need to do something about my weight gain.  I gained way too much after our first loss and feel horrible about the weight I've gained so far with this pregnancy.  I feel gross and want to make sure that I stay healthy this pregnancy.

  • Erinn and brangela, so glad things are going well.

Raynes, don't worry about the weight gain. You look great and your bump is perfect for 16 weeks.

Well Olivia is 6 months and in serious teething mode. Her two bottom teeth have come in but not clear enough for pictures. She sits upright unassisted but still leans and falls over every so often. She's not showing any inclination to crawl just yet but she can flip over from back to belly. She tries to talk but of course it's still baby babble. She sleeps through the night most of the time but with the teething lately it's not guaranteed. She is happy and healthy and overall doing really well.

Sending vibes your way. I really hope that it's nothing. Keep us posted.

  • ECHC - keeping my fingers crossed that the spotting stops and turns out to be nothing.

My next appointment is Nov 24th and my anatomy scan is December 7.  I'll be 21 weeks then, does that seem normal?

Honestly, other than being hungry, running slower and tired I don't really feel pregnant at all.  Also, since we haven't even told all of our family (or my work yet) it's not as if too many people bring it up so sometimes I kind of forget.

I thought I had some movement but I'm not too sure.  Hopefully over the next couple of weeks I'll start having some feelings that I know for sure are movement.

I've been pretty good at keeping up my exercising but I've been so hungry lately.  I'm up about 7-8 pounds and get so bloated some days that I feel horrible.  I don't feel like I have a bump, just that I'm lumpy and feeling fat.  Here is my first bump attempt at 17 weeks.  Please be gentle.

  • Erinn - T&Ps that your LO is fine. Keep us posted.

raynes & rxbeth - you guys look great! charity you too!

Darian is napping in his carseat right now. I guess his play date was just too much fun! He's doing really great with tummy time and can lift his head and twist it to look up at the ceiling. We're also getting real laughs now - he loves being tickled!

Sleep has been awful and he's still getting up 3 times a night to nurse now. We had a great run where he was getting up once or twice. Sigh. It's definitely the 4-month wakeful period that I mentioned yesterday; he's seriously distracted whenever he eats during the day. But he does nap great and I get lots done around the house when we're home.

Today's daycare tour was great. He was just fascinated by everything going on. He really loves to get out and see new things, so I think he'll love daycare when it's time to send him.

Annnnd he's official a Toronto Maple Leafs fan now!

  • Thanks for vibes...

My RE told me (over a month ago) that I might have some brown spotting bc of the vanishing twin, but I've had none so far until today.  I called the nurse and she said to call back if it increases or becomes red.  So, I came home and found the HB on the doppler (seriously the best purchase ever) and now am resting with my feet up hoping it was an isolated incident.

Thanks again, means a lot...  it's just so crazy.  Finally was breathing for the last 24 hours.. finally told my parents, and boom... sorry, no breathing allowed for you.

  • Ditto (tritto? quatritto?) that everything is okay ECHC.
  • I love hearing how all you girls and the little ones are doing!

    Raynes-your bump is adorable!

Katsblaze-you're totally playing fetch with your kids, but that's great! haha Sounds like they enjoy it

    Charity-you look great...and super organized!

Ciaram-glad things are getting easier for you. Edmund is looking great so I'm sure his report will be a positive one.

Erin-I hope everything continues to go well for you. No more scares!

Brangela-I'll be sending along vibes for a healthy rest of your pregnancy

Beth-I can totally tell that's a bump and not bloat lol

Ringy-hope your nights get easier to tolerate soon. At least if you're having to get up so often it's to take care of an adorable baby! Mr. Darian is too precious

  • ECHC, glad to hear that it seems everything's ok!

We're doing well. Still haven't gotten Evan to sleep in his crib or pack n play yet. I don't mind him sleeping on me on the couch, but DH is getting tired of it. We've only slept in the same bed once since we brought E home and only for a couple hours. He's hitting his 3 month growth spurt, so he's eating more now and has more fussy times. He takes some longer naps during the day, but only sleeps a couple hours at a time at night. I love him so much. We're just learning right now. Dh is ready to have him on a set schedule and sleeping in his crib and I just feel like it may be too early to really expect that yet.
