I talked to X last night and it turns out
He wasn't wild about going to the wedding anyway. He just couldn't bring himself to tell my grandparents. I called grandparents and told them I'm coming and bringing my new boyfriend. They were not happy but they understood.
Thank you for helping me to stand up for myself.

You've been dating someone 11 weeks and he is going to a wedding with you already?
