I have been researching floor steamers for a long time, meanwhile my floors are getting more and more filthy because my mop sucks!
There are some that have (seemingly) good reviews, but even if there are way more good reviews than bad, the bad ones scare me.
I have wood-laminate flooring (fake wood, ugh) and I'm looking for a good floor steamer to make it clean, even with dirt from two cats and a dog (and a husband).
I'm also looking for a floor vacuum. Preferably one that would work on carpet too even though we don't have any (planning to move though in a year), but it doesn't have to be carpet compatible. And it doesn't have to be a vacuum/steamer combo either (not sure if I trust those?).
I'm sorry if you've seen this post a million times, but the search feature doesn't seem to work on here.
Thanks for any help!
Re: best floor steamer & vacuum?
I have the Eureka EnviroSteamer as well. I don't use it on my wood floor b/c I'm not sure if I can but use it on my tile. It does a good job but my one problem is my tile is not smooth, it has alot of grooves in it so dirt gets stuck in there. I've had my EnviroSteamer for a little less than 1 year. I am in the process of getting someone to come out and clean my tile and grout so I think after that deep clean gets done, I'll get better results from my steamer. If you go on Amazon and look at the reviews of the EnviroSteamer, someone there has a very detailed review that compares 3 or 4 steam cleaners. I found it to be really helpful.
As far as a regular vacuum, I have a Kirby and got it about 10yrs ago. I wouldn't buy another Kirby just b/c they are so darned expensive and heavy. The options today are much better.
Good luck.
