I'm looking for inspiration for my holiday wish list, so ...
What's your favourite and/or most used gadget/tool/item in the kitchen?
What item to you wish you had?

Re: Kitchen gadgets poll
I love love love my microplane. So very useful, it zests and grates like a dream.
On my wishlist I've got a good quality set of stainless steel measuring cups with the volumes engraved in the handles.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
I have a set of these and set of measuring spoons and they are wonderful. I would like a flour sifter too.
I really want a good whisk! All I have is a little cheap one from the dollar store, and I use it often.
I have a small spatula that I got from pampered chef not to to long ago. I love it.
I would love a few other things that i have bookmarked on elfster. I found these things that clip to your mixing bowl and you use them to pour batter out. I would love that.
I love my mandoline. I have no idea how I lived without it.
Other favorites are my rotary cheese grater, both of my food processors, collapsible bowls and my one chef quality knife.
Cookie scoops! I love mine and use them for everything. I've got a big one and a little one. They are amazing for someone like me who often weighs out cookie portions so that I know they're all the same size.

I really good chef knife. I sharpen mine often and use it for everything. With that two good cutting boards. I use one for meat and one for veg when I'm cooking.
Kitchen Sheers, that can be taken apart and cleaned. I cut everything from veg to meat with them.
What I want. A rice cooker. I just want the steaming capabilities. When I was in the cooking training in Arizona. I made Butternut squash risotto in an in counter steamer and it rocked my socks off. I can't afford the appliance now but think I could get the same results with a rice cooker.
I also want a mandolin.
Can I ditto everyone's wish items? And add a few of the ones people have? Especially the baking stuff--all of my current stuff needs to be replaced.
I use my digital nutrition scale the most. Good booklet with food codes, and it's very easy to use. It's the Eat Smart brand.
I really wish I had a Keurig.
This is sort of silly, but I recently bought a measuring spoon set with long, skinny spoons rather than the usual round spoons. It has made measuring spices and things like baking soda SO much easier, and they are of a very heavyweight nice quality. They're called the RSVP Endurance Spice Measuring Spoon Set.
I love my potato ricer for making gnocchi.
I really want a pasta attachment for my KitchenAid mixer.
My high quality knife set with the sharpening rod has seriously changed my life. I don't know why, but I never used to sharpen my knives before - it makes such a HUGE difference.
I have a set of knives that is my favorite item right now. I also love my microplane, but I think the thing I love best is a huge wooden cutting board. I use it all the time and for all kinds of things. I love my bread machine.
I just got a food processor, which is about the only small appliance that I didn't already have.

I'm still debating if I want a food processor. I have a nice blender, so it seems to do the trick. I love my KitchenAid mixer and cookie scooper. I can make tons of cookies really fast.
I also love my good knives. I haven't sharpened them in a while, so it's on my list of things to do.
Lol, YES. Me too.
So now I really wish I made more cookies so I could get one of these cool cookie scoopers!

I'd love a cookie scoop too! I'd also really love the sausage stuffer & grinder attachments for the kitchen aid mixer.
My favourite tool is also probably the rasp. I've had it for more than 10 years and it makes such a difference.
