jumped ship to the new and improved nest. back to TB for baby boards.
I'd be down for this as well.
I get excited for snow, but I get sick of it VERY fast unless I'm on vacation and it doesn't affect my life. Either snow hard enough to shut down everything so I can stay inside (or only on weekends like jennlin said), or don't snow at all.
Plus, I really hate the slushy, dirty, melty snow/ice mix we get here after it snows and half-way melts. That's the worst. A solid cover of snow that sticks isn't so bad; it's much easeir to drive on than that icy, slushy, bumpy mess.
I'm fine with snow on the mountains for the skiers -- if I want to see it, I can go visit it. Anywhere near the house, I hate snow with a fiery, burning, blinding passion.
Snow caused me to lose 2/3 of everything I ever owned once. Trufax. And I bear grudges against things like that.
And if the road slush didn't freeze into hellish bumpy ice, all would be well. And it would be awesome if people would shovel the sidewalk. I don't like ice. Oh, but last year i got yaktrax and that helped a bunch. (And they have them at costco right now, for super cheap.)
Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
I don't drive in snow either. It really scares me. In 2008 when we had that giant snow storm, I let my car stayed buried for 3 weeks. It was blissful.
Me too, even though I live on top of a hill. Though if someone rear ends a snow plow again and block traffic like last year, I will be pissed. It took at least half an hour to get to my house, when it normally would have taken a minute.
my currently-reading shelf:
When it snows, the buses I take to work don't run, so we just stay home, go out to brunch, and relish it, lol.
My whole office usually stays home and "attempts to work from home" but the network is saturated so we all just go play in the snow
.
I love snow and I, too, get giddier THAN a 6-year-old when it comes! But then adult reality sets in and if it's making it so I can't get to work, and the mass gridlock/danger around here with our steep, steep hills that immediately get iced over...then I start not liking it. So I voted for the "yes, but only in certain places" as that was closest.
Man, next snow, I'm going to miss being next to the giant playground of Discovery Park for all that snow to play in! On the other hand, now I have my own yard...
