So, here is the sketch. Please keep in mind, this is really rough and there will
be much more detail added as I do the inks, etc. The wavy lines up the sides
will be vines and there will be a nice repeat pattern in the center
I know most of this doesn't make sense since it's full of inside jokes between me and H, but what do you think? I like it, but I don't love it. There's something off or missing. Thoughts?

i'm happy i know the MMM reference. i feel like i'm part of the "in-crowd". does the cat have something to do with it?
i can't wait to see it in color, it's gonna be pretty sweet. i wish there was *something* behind the suitcases though...it doesn't quite "fit".

the cat does have something to do with the MMM, but at this point I don't remember why or how...
I think the cat is more important, so I would keep that.
Would you stretch the cat over the top 1/3 of the crest and nix the suitcase? Or do something else?
I think I would keep the cat the same size and just center it.
Another option I would consider would be to center the cat, and have a smaller suitcase on both sides.

i remember it because when we were on tk, you said you "got your band engraved", and i thought you were talking about your *music* band...like...your band members had their instruments engraved....and i thought you were bridezilla, so i had to ask *what* you got engraved on their instruments and *why*....

It's hard to give an opinion when it's so rough and I have no idea what any of this means. Have you discussed colors?
I think i'd like it better if it had a more traditional crest design, as in the layout of the whole design isn't cohesive and is a bit simplistic. In part, the top is too plain.
Look at these. See how all the elements are part of the crest, or link together visually?
You could have the dino creatures in the empty spaces under the Ms (as it's currently designed), and the luggage in the space between the top two Ms, then the cat can be on top like the eagle/night is in a lot of crests. The vines can stay. The 2009 could be bigger and overlap the point of the crest. Or make a big banner on the bottom with your "name" on it (that's traditional) and incorporate the date in the crest. That would fill out the bottom of the image, and take away some of the crowding of the rest.
Something else you could do is come up with funny motto, translate it into Latin and stick that on there, along the bottom in a banner, or make the top of the crest curved and put it there.
Does this make sense? I can sketch it if you're interested.

No real color discussions yet. I figured that we'd get the design done first then talk colors. I'm leaning towards blues and greens though.

MMM= meow meow meow= short hand for "I love you" in the uwhusky household. Also engraved on the inside of my wedding band.

It's more like for emails and notes, but sometimes we'll just say MMM to each other.
