SS- only for a really complicated/big order and then it's $3-4. If it's my "standard" drink for just me? no.

If i'm at an "artisan" type coffee place i do. I often order chai tea lattes and at a good cafe, they brew the chai, then steam the milk and it's a long process. I def. tip then, or really for most orders at that type of establishment. I only tip at a chain if i have a big order. Otherwise if i get change i usually put (some of) that in.

When I pay cash, I give them the change. But, I almost always use a card, so I don't often. I go to the same places most days, so I occasssionally I give them $10 to make up.

The only place I buy coffee is from the kiosk inside the store I work at. Because they are union employees they would lose their job if they accepted tips. So I don't tip when I get coffee.

I always try to tip when I get coffee but if I don't have cash I won't but I try to "make it up" every once in awhile.

Having worked on both the corporate and the artisan side of coffee, I don't tip at the chains but I typically do try to tip at the local spots. There is one drive-thru and one SUPER good coffee shop in my neighborhood and since I semi-frequent those places, I usually tip.

However, I only buy coffee out 2-3 times a week on average - maybe one morning on the way to work, after a run on Saturday and before church on Sunday - so throwing in an extra dollar or two isn't a huge added expense.

I tip at any place except Starbucks. I always use a debit card and they don't give me a slip to sign with a tip line. We usually go to the same place (not Starbucks), and I tip the girl every time. She remembers our orders and does a good job - plus I have a little girl crush on her.

You work in a grocery store? I work for a Starbucks at Safeway! I get a lot of people that would love to tip us, but unfortuately they can't, because we are Safeway employees! Trust me, the thought of the tip is appreciated!!!

I work for Safeway as well. I love my coworkers and would love to tip them but I don't want to get them in trouble. The store always has a donation jar at Starbucks and it is the one that fills up the fastest.

I tip a buck or two, probably every other time or so. I tend to frequent the smaller coffee places, and Stumptown allows me to bring in Link, so I always like to tip them .

I don't tip at Starbucks or Tully's.
