Me too!!! And holy crap this is one of the most intense/saddest/scariest episodes yet.

  • This show! Holy crap.

That school shooting scene was intense and terrifying.

Addy is a pretty girl now Crying

Oh Tate. I know I should hate you for what you did but I just can't do it. Poor baby. At the end, with Violet? Crying

    Cannot WAIT for next week!

  • Talked about it on PCE, but I'll repeat some here.

I know what Tate did, but I still don't feel like he is a "bad" guy. I feel bad for him. I shouldn't.

The school shooting scene was one of the saddest things I've ever watched on TV. Ever. I sincerely hope family members of Columbine victims don't watch this show.

    Tate/Violet = Twilight lol

    Viv's pregnancy = Rosemary's Baby

I loved Eric Stonestreet's appearance, but sad what they did to the character.

  • So I watched the previews for next week and it looked like they flashed between rubber man and the security guard as if they might be the same person?? I'm not sure though because they also flashed between evil demon baby and Tate in a previous episode and I really do not think they are the same person. Ryan Murphy says the identify of rubber man is obvious (to him) but I really don't know.

It seems Tate was a good kid but the house got to him.

I think the Columbine victims and families probably already saw the connection and stopped watching this show long ago.

I think it is intentional. They have been using a number of real life murders. I'm thinking that for victims it would be hard to relive the events but also hard seeing the humanity in a killer.

I think in terms of the show though we are supposed to believe that Tate was a good kid and still is a good person, but that the house drove him crazy or perhaps there was some other emotional trauma as well. For a time I thought maybe he was sexually abused given his impotence and the fact his sister isn't a virgin.

If there was not any sexual abuse though I do give this show props. The girl was a grown adult and people with Down syndrome sometimes seem to be portrayed as asexual. Anyway I have been wondering how people would feel about this show's portrayal of people with Down syndrome. We'll see where the show goes with the storyline though I guess.

    An amazing and chilling episode.

The school shooting scene was intense and I didn't think it'd mirror Columbine as much as it did (i.e. the fact that it was in the library).

As a previous poster mentioned, Vivian eating the organs reminds me of Rosemary's Baby. I wonder what, if anything, the amnio will reveal.

I loved seeing Eric Stonestreet but hated how it ended for him.

The scene where Constance is speaking with Addy definitely made me teary-eyed.

Tate was so sad in this episode. Obviously, he committed a terrible act and I'm not condoning it in any way but it seems as if the house literally drove him mad. Something similar seems to be happening to Violet, now. Tate's obviously fiercely protective of her because he knows what the house is capable of. Really, a powerful scene between the two of them at the end.

Just a question but if Tate doesn't know he's dead, how does he explain everything that's happened? Even if he has no recollection of the school shooting, it's apparent that he can only leave the property on Halloween, his appearance hasn't changed in 17 years, there's another family living in the house, etc.

Powerful denial? I really don't know. I guess I wake up from dreaming sometimes and have to wonder how I didn't realize it was a dream the entire time. So maybe it is like that for him. Maybe the denial is preventing him from really taking in the things that don't fit.

the rubber man is white - you can see his eyes, although I would band the security guard in a hot minute.

the previews for next week show someone - possibly deformed - chained in the attic. i don't know if i can handle that

I think this might be one of the children of Constance based on a previous Ryan Murphy interview (I might be too into this show).

    I agree.

Also, I get the impression that he isn't actually "there" all the time.  Like, I don't think he physically wrote the message to Violet on the chalkboard, but he takes credit for having done it.  I also think time may be a little different for him with blackouts in his memory where he just wasn't there.  I think that when he's not with Violet or the other people in the house, he doesn't exist.  So he doesn't know he can't leave the house b/c when he's there he's there for a reason.

Thank you both for the thoughts. I swear, every episode leaves me with a ton of unanswered questions.

Next week's episode looks good, as well. I'm interested to hear more about Constance and her past and I'm dying to see this third kid of hers.

I do think he is getting weirder, but I don't think that that particular line was creepy. Violet said "the darkness has me" and then he was hugging her saying that. It seemed a natural comforting thing for him to say to his daughter at that moment.

  • I copied my response from another board...

I'm so conflicted about Tate. The shooting scene was so awful. Did anyone notice the cuts all over Tate's face during that scene? They were light, almost healed... I really want to know the reasoning behind the shooting. I'm now guessing he did not want to have sex with violet because of the shooting wounds. I still think he is majorly messed up b/c of constance. They way she even spoje to the swat team seemed icky to me. I may be seeing that because I have formed that theory though. Evan Peters plays his role impecably IMO.

I think that the animal part of the baby inside Viv craves blood. I think constance knows that too for some reason.

Ben is really coming unwound. Also, just like his last patients, the Piggy mans dream of death came true too. (the other woman died cut in half and the pig man dies after saying those words in the bathroom)... I think the house really makes ones fears about death come to life.

Viv is kind of a slore now. Can't believe after all she has been through and being pregnant she is striking it up with police officer. The previews from next week show her getting it on with him, but maybe that is another vivid dream like the pregnancy dream she had...

I think the medium is alive as well. I'm not sure what constance is plotting or why she was worried about whether or not she can trust violet? Maybe not to tell that the dead walk freely in the house? The part with her talking to Addie made me tear up. I think Addie will come back in flashbacks.

The scene with Violet in the basement seeing all the ghosts was crazy. I too think that Violet died and is now in the house as well. But thats a really easy conclusion so it is probably not that case...

I already cannot wait until next week. This show is pure gold...

I thought he was pretty creepy with that line and I wondered what was meant by it. I don't really think he is the house embodied though because I think the house is still messing with him and getting in his head. In this episode I almost thought he was going to call out Viv for cheating during her amnio. I expect the trust issues, jealousy, and rage are going to escalate in the upcoming episode(s). They made it look like Viv might actually cheat with the security guard, but at this point it is hard to say. Could just be a fantasy.

  • the brain scene had me Ick! and she seemed to enjoy it. No one in the world will make me eat a brain!

For some reason when Violet went to the school and met the "teacher" that survived the shooting made me wonder if he was the one that molested Tate and that was his revenge.

Why do Moira and Constance want to make Ben cheat? I don't get it. In the previews for the next episode Constance tells Moira to "do what she does best". And in this one she told Viv that Ben will cheat again. Are they trying to make them break up so she rethinks the pregnancy and abort because the house wants the baby?

  • Oh I could not handle the brain. I know my grandfather has eaten brains in other countries when he had served over seas. I can hear about it, but seeing it, oh god. That set my morning sickness off for sure! I was seriously hiding under a blanket.

I feel bad for Tate though. It's like the medium said, that he's stuck in a childish way.
