Help me choose a color - new pic of other side of kitchen
DH was trying to be helpful yesterday by taking down some halloween decorations that HE put up. Well he put them up with the double sided sticky tape (heavy duty stuff for a small plastic decoration) and when he went to remove it pulled all the paint off the wall. Yes, the kitchen was the next room to get painted but we were going to wait until we do a remodel (in 2 years). I have no choice now but to paint this weekend. Help me choose a color.
Kitchen is black/white grannite counter tops, white cabinets and white appliances. There is a greyish backdrop behind the sink, stove which will stay. There is also a red brick on the arch to kitchen. I'm not sure if this picture will come across but here it is. I can't decide on a color and I really don't want to do white.

Could you do a very light gray? I think that's a pretty classic look.
A light blue is always nice in the kitchen as well.

I thought of going dark but was afraid it would make the kitchen look smaller. Across from the stove is another wall with cabinets above and more counter space. It's an enclosed space with the 1 window. We have 2 entranences ito the kitchen. One from the hallway which as the brick from the picture and another into the dining room. The fridge is across from the window. The color in the hallway is called snowbound which is a white with hint of blue, the livingroom/dining room (it's a large grate room) is a toupe with hint of pink to it.
Agreed. It makes the white trim pop. Especially with white cabinets and appliances, gray is definitely the way to go IMO.
My guest room is a beautiful gray called Manhattan Mist. It may be too light but here is the pallette. There are some darker grays on there too.

I think grey look nice, but with the black and white granite and white cabinets, it will be a little on the plain side. If you like color you really have a lot of leeway. For some reason, based on your tile (taupe-ish?) I think that green would be nice. You could do something kind of dusty like Benjamin Moore "mistletoe" 474 (it's one of the PB colors) or "croquet" AF-455.
eta: I also think that a soft green will look really beautiful with the brick...nice contrast.
My kitchens is Silver Sage (color matched by BM) and I lovvvve it. The color definitely changes throughout the day, depending on the sunlight, and I think it would go really well with your cabinets/counters.
