What to do for shin splints?
I'm on Week 2 of Kosama and my shins are on fire the past couple of days. Not sure how to ressurect the problem... ice them? Heat? Ibuprofen? Anyone know?

love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
If you have an office chair you can strengthen them by sitting and pulling yourself across floor (hardwood or carpet) using toes one direction and heels the other. Do it barefoot and it will help stretch them as well as strengthen. Make sure that you have good shoes as well, that is the number one culprit for shin splits an it sucks for the outlaying cost but is probably worth it in the end.
Also, get some small dixie cups half filled with water in the freezer and give yourself an ice massage at the end of the workouts by tearing off the bottom of the cups and rubbing over your shins. My sister is doing the month of Kosama as well and seems to enjoy it!!
Shin splints are your body's way to ask you to rest. You probably did too much too fast. If you'd like, this is an article about more common causes and solutions for shin splints, hope it helps:
