I need to AW just a bit and ask for some shopping help.
J finally latched on a few days ago at 5.5 weeks and I am so thrilled to break up with my pump until I return to work. I know I'll have to go crawling back to Broccoli soon (yes, DH and I are dorks and named the pump). We call it broccoli b/c it sounds like it is saying that word repeatedly. Cut me some slack- I've been hearing it every 2 to 3 hours for 30-45 minutes at a time for over a month. We worked with a wonderful lactation consultant (Donna Bruschi, based in New Paltz), She had to make 4 home visits, but it was well worth it. She's been doing this for well over a decade and J and I were her hardest case. Yay for being a superlative at something these days ![]()
Can anyone recommend a local brick and mortar store that sells nursing bras? Motherhood in the Galleria doesn't carry my size and neither does Macys or Penny. Donna just opened a shop in New Paltz that sells bras, but it is such a hike for me (I'm in Orange). I'm going to order a couple on Amazon, but I'd love to go to an actual store and try some on. Any suggestions in Rockland or Orange? I'd even look in Westchester. Thank you!
Re: big boob bra store?
Macys doesn't have my size
I bought bravado at this store..
Waddle n Swaddle
32 Raymond Avenue
Poughkeepsie, NY (845) 473-5952
They are the only comfy bras I have to fit my double d's. Good luck!
apparently i missed this. sorrryyy!. macys in palisades and nanuet had fairly large sizes. have you tried kohls? they also had big sizes! i know its weird but BRU had big boob sizes last time i checked.
dusty rose in new city had a very small selection, but their other location in ft. lee, nj had a larger stock of nursing bras.
i bought my first few bras at WOB in Bergen County:
920 Kinderkamack Rd
River Edge NJ
Phone: 201-265-6116
they were Anita brand I really liked them.
then i bought again when Sam was around 6-7mos old - but I went in NYC not too far from my office - Linda's bra shoppe or something like that. teeny tiny and you need an appointment, but enormous stock on hand! i wound up with Anita again and Belle Materna.
go to a specialty shop and get fitted properly!

Thank you for all this information because I need to bra shop this weekend...I guess I had a growth spurt in the last week. Damn it!
Not sure if you need to get fitted but if you know what size here are a few websites.
I was fitted in Lane Bryant. Motherhood messed up my size royally. I am a 42 DDD not sure if you need that extreme but no where carries them. I did get a nursing sports bra and tank from walmart that worked until I could get the right stuff.
