I'm big into cooking. Every year I go through Cooks Illustrated's equipment review list and add things that look interesting. Some of this year's items are a butter preserver dish (keeps room temp butter from spoiling), a large dutch oven, a chef knife, and a mandolin. The nice part is that items range from $5 to $50.
Also, my list include's my cats' list. Pit'r Pat'r treats, a scratching post, and "tasty food." Please Mom, no more chirrpy bird toys that are motion actived. It's a four hour drive home on bumpy roads!

I have a butter bell and I LOVE IT! Just remember to change the water every other day or so and keep the cup full. Butter will still eventually go rancid if you leave it too long but it is fantastic to just spread it on toast and stuff without putting holes in the bread!
