was SOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and worth every penny! i bought my tickets 1 minute after they went on sale 13 months ago, and i got row 26, in one of the back sections. there was nothing else available closer....we begrudgingly paid the ungodly amount for a wednesday night concert, and basically forgot about our tickets for a year.
but our seats. were. amazing. we got the first row of the section where it got split..so we had plenty of room to lean forward, put our feet up, etc...there was nobody blocking us, and overall, excellent view. nothing we couldn't see.. the stage was extended out to toward the middle of ground-level....the only issue was that the seats were a little tight, and my back had already been hurting all day.
during the intermission, i walked out into the aisle, and stretched, rubbed my back, etc..and the aisle assistant guy said "you're pregnant, right? why don't you guys go sit over there?" and he pointed us toward the normally-for-disabled-guests section. we were now about 5 rows closer, still with nobody in front of us, cushy, padded chairs, and enough space around each one of us to do jumping jacks...the chairs were moveable, so we were able to move them closer together..but still, we had plenty of room... being KTFU win! (h now wants me to wear a pillow on my tummy everywhere we go, for when i'm not KTFU to see what other perks we get).
the show itself----AMAZING. they did such a good job capturing classic michael, also with a few of his lesser-known songs (which weren't as exciting), but all the good ones were touched on (bad, billie jean, PYT, smooth criminal, jackson5 songs, etc...).they had a good amount of moon walking, lean-y thingy that he does, pelvic grabs....good times.
it was just slightly more cirque-than-michael, and h and i both agreed we wanted to see just a little bit more michael, but we *did* go to a cirque show..and cirque shows are amazing, so there was no problem with it..we loved it, we just wished it was a little more michael-esque.
and seriously. watching a group thriller-dance (done correctly) is always-always-always fun to watch.
overall, the show is on tour right now, and eventually will settle in LV. so...if you get the chance to go see it, GOOOOOOOOOOO. it's good, and worth it...i'm saying it's worth it and i paid full price. i *never* pay full price for anything. and i think it was worth it it.
Re: rave: michael jackson cirque de solei
lucky you! I love cirque shows, but thought this one was gonna be kinda cheesy. Guess I gotta wait for LV at this point. Or maybe CL.
Also, way to work the belly!
I'm glad it was worth the $$$ and the time!
