What do you mean they are the "opposite" of Jon and Kate?
How was it a surprise? Were they not doing IUI or taking fertility drugs?
I don't understand the "surprise" because they used fertility treatments.
They're from my area and there is lots of gossip about them "taking advantage of the fame".
I do find them less annoying than J&K though.
I think it's their personalities - the husband and wife seem to be in love, have great chemistry, compliment each other and seem to have fun with the kids, who are adorable.
Whereas J&K didn't seem to care for each other that much to begin with, bickered, and with Kate cutting him down all the time. We all know the rest of that story.

Yeah, the title alone makes me not want to watch this show. How can quints be a "surprise?" They did fertility treatments, and I'm sure she had ultrasounds so they knew what was coming.
That whole Jon and Kate thing was a real turnoff so I don't want to support these types of shows by watching it.
The first time I heard about them, I did a quick search and found their blog. It disgusted me. They are so into themselves, and were pushing their readers to tell TLC to give them a show and such.
Why does it seem like all the dumbasses who end up with high order multiples think they deserve a TV show?
Also, they bought a 7-week-old designer breed puppy from a backyard breeder. That itself is enough to make me hate them.

Yes, they are totally into themselves. I followed them on facebook for a little while and got really tired of the pleading for fans to contact TLC and renew their show. Relying on a reality show for income = baaaaaaaad news!!
Also, I really bugs me that they're supposedly faithful Christians yet the mom wears immodest clothing.
What bothers me the most about them is their financial stupidity. I watched an episode where they were talking about how much debt they were in. They "had" to sell their old house, which was around 3,000 square feet, because it "wasn't big enough". They looked at one house that was ginormous, and kept making comments about how it was the size of a postage stamp. They ended up buying some McMansion, I think. Anyway, it sounded like they were up to their eyeballs in debt to begin with, then they were going on and on about how they didn't really know how they were going to afford the new house, but that they "had faith it would all work out"
