What kind of stocking do you or your kids have? Homemade, store-bought, with your name, etc? For me, DH and our dog I have the Pottery Barn ones with our names embroidered on them. I like that they still carry the same style so I can easily add another one when we get another dog. My Mom still uses my old one - it's a giant hand-knitted stocking with Rudolph on it.Do you and DH exchange Christmas stockings? If not, does anyone else give you one (parents, etc)? Yes, we all have stockings including the dog.

What kind of stocking do you or your kids have? Homemade, store-bought, with your name, etc? We all have Disney ones that I put our names on with glue and glitter. Except for Oscar, he has a special dog stocking.Do you and DH exchange Christmas stockings? If not, does anyone else give you one (parents, etc)? We hang stockings but never fill them per se. I think I stuck a few items in his over the years. In general though, we don't exchange stockings. His mother does though. We hang them all on the fireplace (entire family) and typically there is anywhere between 7-25 items in there. There is definitely one for everyday from the 25th through the 31st. She's always had the kids open one a day and on the 31st they open the remaining.

Do you and DH exchange Christmas stockings? Yes. We each have our own and Jade has one with a paw print on it. I also have one now for LO. If not, does anyone else give you one (parents, etc)? My parents do stockings for all of us:DH, me, my two brothers, SIL, and nephew.
Hopefully this year they have found ones for LO and nephew #2 in the same style. Up until a few years back my mom still used the same ones we used growing up and just gave SIL and DH a generic stocking. Now they are all the same style and have our first initials on them.

What kind of stocking do you or your kids have? Homemade, store-bought, with your name, etc? DH and I have pretty simple ones, mine is burgundy with white 'fur' and his is navy blue with white 'fur'. I took puffy paint and wrote our names up in the 'fur'. Jade has one from Pet Smart with a paw print on it and I have a Classic Pooh one for LO I bought at Target a few years back.
Well, growing up I had stockings ( I think I have 3, but only one was filled and I got to choose which one I wanted to use. My current fav is green felt with a snow man, but I also have a hand-crocheted one and one with santa and rudolph and glitter glue). Penelope has a stocking at my mom's
Since I converted when we got married and since we have been married, we have not done stockings. Now that we have DD, we have decided to do stockings for everyone (DH, DD, Dog #1 & Dog #2) on xmas day. They will be from us. DH is adamant that there will be "no Santa" for DD.
I plan on making DD and DH stockings since neither has one.

does anyone else give you one (parents, etc)? Even though we have stockings here, my parents also do stockings for us @ their house. Growing up I remember going to my moms' parents' house for Christmas dinner and my mom and her brother still getting a stocking there, but my dad and us kids did not- I remember thinking 1) it was weird that my grandmother still did stockings for them and 2) cheap that she wouldn't do them for us and 3) being bored while my mom and uncle emptied their stockings! As a result of this bizarre memory I told my mom that she could either do stockings for my whole family, or not do one for me at all.

At our house all of the stockings coordinate- My BIL & SIL gave DH, the dogs and myself all monogrammed stockings from PBK for our first married Christmas. Then for DD's first Christmas she sent us one for DD. Last year I waited to see if she would send one for DS, and she didn't so I ordered him one during the post-Xmas sale from PBK for like $9 w/ monogramming. Also I bought the coordinating tree skirt on sale one year.
I don't really care about them all matching but once you have 4 matching stockings you can't really start mixing things up.

Does Columbia Mall have a stand/shop that sells monogrammed bags, etc? Annapolis Mall does and you can take anything there and they will monogram it for like $8...

They're a "stitched" style). DS has a Pottery Barn Kids stocking w/ his name stitched on it. My mom still uses my childhood stocking (a hand-knit one w/ Santa and my name) and new ones she picked out for DH and DS, my dad and stepmom use my childhood stocking (another "stitched" style) and new ones they picked out for DH and DS, and my ILs use DH's childhood stocking and new ones they picked out for me and DS.... every single day of forever.

If you have kids, do they get a stocking? From just you or from someone else also? DD gets one that I fill. She does not get one elsewhere. I'm surprised by how many Nestie Kids get stockings from their grandparents! My grandparents didn't do them for us - they would have had 12 stockings to fill, 17 if they did them for their kids, over 20 if they added children-in-law. I can't imagine.
What kind of stocking do you or your kids have? Homemade, store-bought, with your name, etc? DD and I have almost matching stockings, handmade by my Mom. She cross-stitched mine when I was little and it's the stocking I've always used. As my sisters had kids, she made one for each of them, and when DD came along, she managed to find a pattern that was almost identical to mine despite the 25+ year age difference. DH's stocking is a random one I picked up. I may take up cross stitching long enough to make him one that "goes" with ours, but not this year.
