American Horror Story

FI and I started watching this tonight.  We started with the two episodes available ondemand (from mid Oct).  Can someone please catch me up to that point--we saw the episode with the group of murder enthusiasts who tried to recreate the murder.  What happened leading up to that, and why does Ben see the maid as the young version?  Does he ever see the maid as the older woman she is?

Re: American Horror Story

  • There is much to catch up on.  Ben and his family moved into the house after he commits adultery in Boston and is caught by his wife.  They move to CA to start over and the house is infamous for a series of murders.  They are only told about a murder-suicide of the previous tenants.  The house has a long history of horrors including the original owners losing their fortune and beginning a barbaric abortion clinic, then their child goes missing.  Other murders and tragedies ensue including some nurses who lived there which was part of the murder "enthusiasts" outing.  The neighbor is very involved and she knows much about the house and killed the maid who was sleeping with her husband or lover (this was not clear to me, but I assume hubs). I believe the maid appears to Ben as her sexy siren self due to his infidelity and obsession with sex.  So the maid is dead, but trapped in the house along with others who may appear alive but are actually deceased.  Try to watch all the episodes, it is quite a twisted storyline.  But very addictive.

  • Moira, the maid, actually appears to men in general as her hot, seductive younger self.  (In one of the episodes, the detective who comes asking questions about one of Ben's clients sees the younger Moira.)

But to women, she's the older version with the blind eye (where Constance shot her afer catching her husband with Moira---totally not Moira's fault either!).

The show is insane!  I sooooo look forward to Wednesday nights!
