They opened one near the PTO here in Alexandria and for the longest time, I thought it was a BBQ joint (the name sounded like a BBQ place to me). It took a while before I realized it was sandwiches--only after I looked up their menu online.

JJs lovers: what's so great about it? What do you get there?

No, I had to also. While the menu looks good, it doesn't strike me as anything special.

  • we had a Jimmy Johns in Chapel Hill and DH loooooooved it. I was less fond of it as I got horrible food poisoning there one time...never went back and don't plan to try the news ones here. (I know, it makes no sense, but I was really sick and it made quite and impression on me.)

DH is all kinds of excited that there's one near his office AND one near our house now.

  • JJs was not yet a thing when I was in college in NC, but now they are everywhere down there and I do enjoy going when I am back.

They are nothing that will change the world, but I like their bread and the fact that they have a decent veggie option. I'll be checking out the downtown location for lunch one of these days!

  • just excited that a college staple is now walking distance from my office. If you have never had one, it is not like eating there is going to change your life but they are some tasty sandwhiches. when i visit Sis in southern Ill we go from airport to JJ just b/c i couldn't get them here.
