Who else has a long weekend?
DH's standard day off falls on 11/11, so he gets to observe the Veteran's Day holiday on 11/10 instead. Yippee for a four day weekend!
Tomorrow morning DH is going to take DD to preschool and run some errands while I get the house to myself for three hours. Whatever will I do with myself?!
Re: Who else has a long weekend?
i do! I do!
The problem with short weeks is that I usually am cramming 5 days of work into 4, which is never fun. I can't wait for FRIDAY.
Not I.
I have my critical care class on Friday until 4, though, so at least it's a shorter day than a standard 12-hour shift. And I don't have to work again until Monday, so that's nice...
And I have a lovely weekend planned!
Oh that sounds like a wonderful morning
Well, obviously I don't and DH never does. He gets 5 holidays and that's it. None of the "minor" ones
ME! YAY!
The kiddos are starting to go insane, which always happens this time of year (longest time without a vacation and the time change plus new classes start). I'm ready for a break. I'll be spending the day editing and might take the pup for a walk somewhere since we both need exercise. I have yet to decide where though.
I do too! Ditto what Susie said about the break being much needed! DH actually has a 3 day weekend too (well, from his full time job, will still be landscaping) but it's only because it's his regularly scheduled days off. They are pretty stingy with the holidays too.
We don't have any big plans, but some fun little stuff. Going to attempt to take Eli to a play at my school so we will see how that goes. Otherwise, plan on going out to breakfast, grocery shopping and attending some open houses at local businesses to start Christmas shopping.
ME! ME! ME! I took Monday off, too, so a 4 day weekend! Bring it on!!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Nicole
I do, but only because daycare is closed tomorrow and I'm taking a PTO day. My company only has 4 "official" holidays (New Years, Thanksgiving, Xmas.... and Easter- don't get me started about the religious day off, but not the 4th of July) but they give us a decent amount of PTO days for vacation and sick time annually, so I never want for time off. Plus my boss is cool about letting us take time whenever.
Tomorrow James and I will do some fun stuff (making Christmas gifts by letting him paint on canvases, taking Christmas calendar pictures) and some less fun stuff (cleaning, grocery shopping?) then we'll head in to daycare in the afternoon for a half hour, biannual parent-teacher conference.
This weekend DH wants my help to clean the gutters (I'm official ladder-holder-gal, though I'm happy to get up there too) and we'll probably do some cleaning (finish putting away Halloween, get ready for Thanksgiving), slacking, and football watching. I've got a yummy meal planned for Saturday- chicken parm, salad, roasted garlic, and maybe homemade bread. I'd be lying if I didn't say that was already something I was looking forward to as a highlight!
I do! I love saying that. I went from 6 holidays at my old job to 13 now.
I feel bad though because not only does DH not have it off, but he has mandatory overtime until the end of the year which means late nights and weekends. He is so tired.
If I wasn't on maternity leave, I wouldn't have a long weekend... but since I'm on a temporary extended long weekend, I do
.
DH has tomorrow off but he's going down to one of the CT casinos with two of his guy friends for the day. The baby and I might hang out at my mom's house or do something with my sister.
3.5 day weekend!
half a day today and all day tomorrow off.
I'm going shopping with my mother and sister.
That's great!! It must be nice to cut out the travel!
