*Punky* and other etiquette sticklers.

Facebook statuses to make your skin crawl. Both are from the same person.

First one (from a couple of weeks ago):

To anyone who received an E-vite to my RI shower on FB please msg me your rsvp... I can't see the responses on their site :(

Second (from yesterday):

To anyone attending my RI shower next Saturday, please do not buy us anyyyy baby clothes! We have soooo much clothing, we don't know what to do with it all thanks to cousin ****** :)

 Comment beneath the status:

We're registered at babiesrus and target :-)

  • E-vite, huh? Oy.

And I imagine half the guests have already shopped for the shower and have bought clothes...not that she gets to decide what she gets. Stick out tongue

  • Indifferent

I am not much of an etiquette stickler but there are some things that should just be common sense (I feel like I make the "common sense" comment a lot on The Nest; I don't know why I still think people should have some).

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • There are so many things wrong with this, it makes my skin crawl.

Do you all remember the super horrible wedding we went to at the end of the summer with the glow stick bracelets, DUI guy, and Arbor Mist wine selection?  They sent out their invitiations with a registry for their honeymoon from AAA which a note that says it has to be a $25 minimum.

  • *cringe*

I often wonder if I would even be able to remain friends with someone who made such a faux pas.

My aunties would have a stroke if they saw anything like that.

  • I suppose this goes way beyond sticklers and it just blatantly in bad taste.

She is actually the sister of a good friend. She added me and since I do see her through her sister, I feel bad deleting her.

But really? Throwing your own shower? Sending out an e-vite to your own shower? And then telling everyone what they can and can't bring as a gift? The tacky is making my head spin.

  • FWIW, I didn't get an e-vite.

Which is surprising, because I got a FB event invite to the other sister's baby shower a couple years ago.

  • I didn't even realize she's throwing her own shower. That adds another layer of tackiness.

Oh yes. Sorry, that's what I meant for the first quote to show. She has posted repeatedly about it.
  • Gross.  I love that you guys all think this is as horrible as I do.  IRL I know so many people who pull this crap.  I love being able to discuss how trashy it is on here!
