Errr.... not in a pedophile kind of way.
All of the family who lives out of state is going to be here for Christmas this year. Being the coolest, older cousin that I am my aunt's asked me to take the older ones out to do something.
Side/back story: A few weeks ago my uncle died of liver cancer and he leaves behind my aunt and 3 boys (19, 16 and 11) This will be the first Christmas without their Dad. They're from Houston.
So, I said that I'd hang out with those 3 as much as I could. Also, my 2 other cousins will be home from college. One is 19 and the other will be barely 21.
The 21 year old has already asked me to take him on a 21 run here.
Sooo, what do I do with a 19 year old girl, and 3 boys who are 19, 16, and 11? The 21 year old boy will probably hang out with us too.
Any ideas?
Re: what to do with a bunch of under aged kids
the asian thing to do is bubble tea and/or froyo. i hate going to those places after 10pm on a weekend night. FILLED with youngsters!
once the 11yo goes to bed, there are a few under 21 happy hours you can take them to, ruth chris in bellevue, greenlake bar and grill, palomino (seattle, not bellevue).....there's more, but i don't remember them. h has a list he used to keep, but we don't run into this problem anymore.....
for the 21 yo, take him to 88keys. i love that place.

jumped ship to the new and improved nest. back to TB for baby boards.
None of the kids are really azn though...
That's a really good idea. I think he'd love it. He's in his school's acapella group.
they should still like it. bubble tea/froyo is enjoyed by all, it's just packed with the azn kids. at least they are in lynnwood. i don't know what elsewhere is like. back when i was "azn" we used to go to bubbletea all the time and play card games and jenga.

Take them to an all-ages show,
I planned on writing a whole list, but that's all i've got.
Wait, there's more! Gameworks (or another arcade), inner tubing, shopping (you know, like kids do... just wander around the mall sipping something sugary), go to a laser light show (those are still around, right?)
Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
I keep forgetting about laser shows and gameworks.
Thank you!!!!
ETA: Yay! Brian Setzer's doing an all ages show at the Showbox. I'm going to make everyone go to that.
I have no clue, but that's a really good idea.
I feel so old and out of touch with what's cool.
I stopped being cool so long ago... (well this is assuming I ever was!)
Gameworks has an all-you-can-play special on Thursday nights. I think its $10/person from either 7-close or 9-close.
My cousins (who were 19, 22, and 25 when they came up for our wedding) all really liked going to EMP, even though none of them are really big music buffs.
1st year anniversary in Victoria with a killer whale topiary!
ask them what they wanna do?
