Is Woodbury Commons Worth Going to?

I would love to spend a day shopping and some coworkers mentioned how much they enjoy going to woodbury commons. I've never been but am curious if any of you think it's worth the drive to go?

Re: Is Woodbury Commons Worth Going to?

  • I would say it depends on what you are looking for.  I am meeting my mom there tomorrow to go shopping for the baby.  They have a Carter's, Gap, Stride Rite, etc.
  • It would be more to bulk up SOs closet for a slightly more professional look and I wanted to see if I could find a nicer winter coat. Nothing baby/child related.
  • I would say so. I love woodbury commons! They have tons of stores. :)

  • I am headed there tomorrow as well!  Carter's and Stride Rite, here we come!

I love the commons.  You really can make a day of it.  I would just avoid the weekends and once black friday rolls around, I would avoid it all together.  They get busloads of people and there are actually lines to get into some stores...insanity.

  • I do the majority of my shopping there but it is also on my way home from work. I def think its a good place to go if you're open and not searching for specific items. I would try to go on a week day and not a weekend though bc it can get pretty busy.

  • What are some of your favorite stores to go to? Which places have the best deals?
  • For men's clothes-off fifth, banana republic, j crew are the places DH likes. There's also theory men's, Ralph Lauren, brooks brothers, izod, van huessen, and many more.
  • You can get a coupon for a discount book to help save more money.

You print it from online and take it to customer service.

If you want brand name clothes at less then retail it's worth it. If you are looking for lots of inexpensive things it's not really  that. (Unless it's true clearance)  The prices are great for the name brands.

  • Hah I'm going tomorrow as well.  I buy a lot of stuff for my husband in banana or j.crew.  I like gap for myself.  Cole haan for shoes.

  • FYI a lot of the stores have better sales going on midweek than they do on weekends.  I think it's kind of hit or miss but if you have time to go to a lot of shops and really look then it's worth it.  DH usually does better at finding stuff than I do there.

Ive noticed for Carter's tj max,, kohls and jcpenney are just as good price wise.

  • I think it's worth going too. Even if you don't really find much it's a nice place to walk around. It's very hit or miss for me. Sometimes I go and find a ton of stuff and sometimes I find nothing I'm looking for.

Agreed!  The only time I go there is when I get a really good coupon like I have now, a %25 off total order of $40 or more( can only be used in a carters store, not on carters products elsewhere).  At that point, it is totally worth it.  Otherwise, the others are great.

  • I hate the Woodbury Common.

With that said -- I went to school in Monroe Woodbury, worked in various stores as a teen and dealt with traffic headaches all my life lol so I avoid shopping there for other reasons.

  • I am not a huge fan of it.  I do go there but it can get crazy when people are bussed in and alot of people are very rude.

They do have some good stores...but no different than other outlet centers.

  • Eh, I find it hit or miss. I do like the shoe stores (Adidas, Puma, Clarks). I just find the people there on any given day so freakin rude. I can't even count how many times my toes have been run over by someone's rolling suitcase.  Carter's and Oshkosh are good, but I've found I get better deals at my local Kohls for those brands w/my Kohls coupons.

  • We were there last weekend.  I was thrilled to see there is a Bare Escentuals outlet (my favorite makeup). Cute gift sets for $6.50!  I bought mom a really cute bag at Kate Spade for 65 bucks.  I had luck in the Ann Taylor outlet and JCrew. There was a line to get into Coach and Uggs.  Best time  is at opening on a weekday before the tour bus crowd rolls in.
  • Its ok, depending on what you want.  you have to like shopping, and walking.  I agree that prices are cheaper mid-week than on the weekend, but you are getting dangerously close to christmas shopping time so its going to be nuts.  Shopping is not really my thing though!  (although I should be making a trip soon to Carters, I guess!)
