German ladies
I guess now that I promised Smudges I'd do it, I'll start a post about a get together in the early part of 2012. I know ctgirl is due in early January, so maybe mid-February-ish? And I know a lot of us are in the south and last time it was said that Frankfurt was the most central for us, but I just wanted to throw this out there - maybe Stuttgart is actually more convenient for many of us? So, if you're interested
1) Does mid-Feb sound ok?
2) Would Frankfurt or Stuttgart be more convenient for you?
3) If you come, will you bring your baby/child(ren)? (This I'm asking because if lots of us bring babies we'll have to keep that in mind when we're looking for a place to meet)
Edit: 4) Does it have to be a weekend or could it also be a weekday?

I'll start :-)
1. Mid Feb should be fine, but I'll know more in a few weeks
2. Stuttgart is better, Frankfurt is ok
3. Depends on whether it's a weekday or weekend and what DH has planned
4. Doesn't matter in general, but I have a few regular commitments on weekday evenings, so in general a weekend would be better
I'm not in Germany but I so want to play too!!
1) I'm here until Feb 24th so I think any date before that would be ok.
2) Frankfurt is closer for me by a good 45 min (2h 45 vs 3h 30). I have no clue how trains are etc so I'd have to look into that too.
3) I'd bring E with me and probably leave M at home with DH to make file easier.
4) I'm free most days, I just have my student on Wednesday evening.
1. Mid-feb sounds ok
2. Definitely Frankfurt. I'm about 2 hours north of Frankfurt.
3. I plan to bring a baby.
4. Weekend for my H to go, which I would need if it's more than 2 hours from me. If it's within 2 hours on train, then any day is ok.
Oh yay! Thanks for thinking of me in all this, Kelly! We would miss you though, Lelia. If we do get together in Feb, then we'll have to find another time with a more central location for you too
1. I could probably do mid-Feb, assuming things go well with Erbse and my recovery.
2. Obviously, Stuttgart would be easiest for me, but Frankfurt would be doable as well. If we met in Frankfurt, I might want to bring DH with me though.
3. I could do either, since we live so close to my ILs, they could watch LO for a few hours. Then again, a chubby little baby might be fun to spend time with too
2. Frankfurt is much closer to where we will be, but again, I likely may not be in the country yet. But. . . Once we have a place rented and somethings put away, I will be happy to host a GTG!
3. I may or may not have my toddler with me. It would depend upon many factors.
4. Either is fine by me, though, if forced to make a choice, weekdays would be better. Time with DH on weekends will be precious and limited. Come late spring, we will be available anytime. And, happy to travel for day trips.
I'm looking forward to meeting Nesties in Germany (and other neighboring countries!). It is important to me to make connections and build friendships because of who I am and my interests, not only because I'm a military wife. So, keep me (and my little one) in mind for outings and day trips. We like to meet new people and try new things!
I'd prefer Frankfurt
If it is in Frankfurt, then I can do during the day, but nothing after 4. If it is in Stuttgart, it would have to be a weekend.
