thoughts on the prayer event at Ford Field this weekend?
I just read an article about it. Just wondering how y'all fell about it being in your "backyard" as they say.
And a reponse of "no comment, delete this stupid post" is acceptable

I didn't even know about this. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hMUx4Vrh0SrGvnkgLAlWwstOnLxw?docId=824f8c8ba5454ac1b5f4c012e63e2d19
Apparently the NBC news I watch didn't care enough to carry it. My only reaction is
. I just hope the event is uneventful.
This. I am always out of the loop.
I think I pay more attention to Detroit news than I do Houston at this point! I just saw the article on yahoo when I was logging in to my email.
lol. I didn't know about that either.
I can't get to the site at work, but it's called All American Muslim I think. It's focused on their life in America and the focus is on Dearborn as the largest Muslim population in America.
Sounds like y'all are lucky to have a silly girl from Texas keeping you informed! LOL
Eh. I guess the whole Dearborn thing is more of a shocker to people outside of the area. It would be like doing a special on the big hispanic population in Grand Rapids. No biggie to me. I mean, it is interesting when you go through Dearborn and see all the store fronts, but really, who cares? I guess "All American Muslim" is more interesting than following a Cuban around in Miami just for "shock" value. I mean, really, there are pockets of ethnic groups everywhere. I think the media trying to act like the Muslim thing is a big deal only perpetuates any problem there may be...which is probably why that event is happening at Ford Field. Clearly, we in the area don't care and proceed with life as normal.
I try not to watch news since it's always depressing (even if I just watch Sports I can't get away from depressing news: ie: Penn State).
I hope it's uneventful & people don't come.
