f/u - winter formal dress
Would something like this be in the ballpark? I love this dress but have no idea where it is from. I would think it be fun to dress up the hair and shoes to go with.

Re: f/u - winter formal dress
For some reason, I agree. I can't quite put my finger on why...
I do like the idea of red satin, though!
I think it's the tulle that comes a little below it that makes it look more semi-formal.
I am fashionally challenges so I am so glad to have you ladies. After reading your comments... maybe it is not formal enough and maybe it is too "prom ish". Back to the drawing board.
Well I'm not the most stylish person around, either, so take my opinions with a grain of salt!
But I do like looking at pretty dresses, haha. Post more!
I'd wear it and I'm 37.
Take a black velvet wrap, pair it with red satin shoes, put your hair in a chignon with a diamondback clip, grab a little black clutch, pop in some diamond stud earrings and wear a tennis bracelet (or gold bangle) ~et volia!~ it's perfect for a holiday party in Ca.
All this. It's very Betty Draper.
You do got a point and seem to uderstand that people dress "California Casual" here in CA. Maybe I can find something similiar that is more formal or something more red. I am really liking Red these days.
In CA, that will probably work for formal...in NY, probably not. Wear what you love and makes you feel good
