I posted our DIY maternity pics on FB last night. Today, I asked our wedding/newborn photog what she honestly thought. She lives 8+ hours away so that's why she couldn't do our mat. pics. Here's what she said:

I did like a couple of them but I can for sure tell wether you took them yourself or had a beginner do it. No offense..but I WISH I could do them for you. But you got it captured and I think you did a decent job!

I wish I wouldn't have asked for her honest opinion. FTS.

Wow, that was a little rude! From what I saw of the ones you posted, I think they look really good! Heatherkj had her DH take her pics, and they were great. We had SIL take ours and I like them. I don't think most people have professional maternity pictures taken... I mean, what are you really going to do with them? The whole point is to remember this time and that's what you did! Don't worry about her.

Seriously? I thought your pics were great, Katie. The only one that made me giggle was the one in the cornfield b/c it reminded me of Children of the Corn. lol.

I think they look great too. Perhaps they are not perfect from a technical standpoint (I have no idea because I don't know enough about photography) but most people who see them are not photographers. More importantly, how do you like them? If you like them (or did before she was brutally honest) that's all that matters. I would proudly hang any of them in my home if I were you!

LO had his 2 month shots on Tuesday and has been grumpy/clingy since. I was happy when DH got home last night so I could hand him off and have a break. Then LO started screaming bloody murder and DH announced out of the blue that he was going over to a friend's to watch a football game and didnt come home until after 11. Are you effing kidding me?

lol Oh God! I hadn't thought of that!

Thanks, ladies. Pregnancy hormones have taken over this last trimester, so I think that's why her comment bothered me so much. Matt and I really like how they turned out.

And Ali, I completely understand that about DH. I think my DH has forgotten how to change diapers. I pulled a 12 hour silent treatment last night that lasted until he took me out to breakfast this morning.
