Nutcracker Market

Have we talked about this yet? I didn't see a post..

Did anyone go today? I'm going tomorrow and very excited.

Any must visit shops you plan to hit up?

Re: Nutcracker Market

  • I went today, way bigger the  I ever expected (my first time).  It was insane!  There's lots of cute metal decor out there right now.  Get to the back right area.  Lots of REALLY cute household stuff, even furniture and lighting.
  • I was going to go today but I didn't want to take a half day off from work. My mom and I aew going to go tomorrow evening. I'm hoping to find some cute Christmas stuff or clothes.
  • Me!  Me!  My mom and I are going tomorrow.  I've been every year for probably the last 6 or 7 years?

I love it.  I look forward to it EVERY year as I consider it (to me) the beginning of the holiday season.  This year is going to be extremely bittersweet, though...my mom, dad, and I used to get so excited about it and we would all three go (yes, my dad LOVED it...he was a holiday nut) and spend an entire Friday shopping.  It was the best thing.  Now that he's passed, it will be our first year without him.  He would want us to have a great time and I know he's there with us in spirit, but I know tomorrow is going to be a bit hard on both my mom and me.  Sounds silly, but it was a huge family tradition for us, and not to be messed with :)

But I cannot wait to go!

  • I went yesterday.  I took off of work and regretting not taking today off too.  I am sore and tired.  This year was the first time I've been able to go with no time limit.  We were there from opening till about 5:30 and made 3 drop offs.  Love the drop station!!!

It seemed to take a long time to check out this year since most of our time was spent in lines.  Paul Michaels is probably twice the size this year and have some fabulous stuff.  Unless people had more things not with them yesterday, some were already running out of stuff.

It seemed the item of the year were the bubblegum hullahoops and the Christmas poles because EVERYONE had them.

My favorite thing I bought were my new Round Top Christmas yard decorations.  Good thing DH was in NO for the UofH game, so when he gets home Sunday and sees all the stuff I bought he won't be as mad Smile

The poles are popular every year!  lol  I bought one last year and then changed up all the lil accessories they put on it (the ribbon, etc).  I couldn't believe the hulahoops.  I guess I'm cheap, but I'm not paying 15 dollars for one.  I saw one lady carrying around 5 of them!  Having to buy 3 would have cut into my budget. LOL I didn't buy as much this year as I have previous years, but we had a blast!

  • My mom, sister and I are going on Sunday. It is the traditional start to our holiday season.  I'm determined to finish my Christmas shopping before December 20th this year (LOL) and am very excited to go.

I love Paul Michaels stuff and always end up with something from there!

  • I went to the pre-party.  It seemed like there were fewer booths.  Bought some Round Top Christmas decorations, and some Savannah Bee honey products.  I always enjoy the pre-party since it is way less crowded.

My mom and I went to the pre-party this year as well.  Definitely less crowded--it was so nice being able to actually look at everything.  I felt like there were less booths as well.  We found a few cute things, but overall I felt like a lot of things were way overpriced this year.

  • This is the first time in a few years I'm not going.  I wanted to, but I don't have time off and this weekend is insane.

Plus, we went to Canton last weekend so I'd expect to see most of the same stuff anyway.

  • Omg yesterday was nuts. I didn't buy as much as I thought I would because everything I saw seemed way overpriced.

I still had fun though! I got home last night and was pooped. My legs ached so bad lol
