Hello! My name is Marni and, thanks to the US military, I will soon be an International Nestie.
This is not something that my DH (who is the service member) and I ever expected, but we are embracing the impending experience and hoping to make the most of it! We will be moving to Germany with our toddler and our Boston Terrier in early 2012. Because of limited housing on base, we expect to live in one of the nearby cities or towns. At first, this scared me (DH will be headed off on his own super fun adventure shortly after we get settled, if you catch my drift), but now that I've had some time to get used to the idea, I'm excited.
I am equal parts thrilled and terrified about our move. Any tips and suggestions to get through the actual move are appreciated.

Re: Introduction
Hi and welcome. I'm a Brit married to a Luxembourgish guy with a Lux-brit DD.
Where will you be stationed? There are a number of girls on here in Germany and I'm not too far from one of the bases in Germany, maybe you'll get lucky and be nearby!
I have been in touch with Ilumine, as a military spouse in Germany, she's provided a lot of invaluable information.
My LO is a wonderful traveler, so even when DH is off doing his own thing, I plan to venture out with my side kick.

Welcome! DH and I are Americans living in the south part of the Netherlands...only about 3 hours from Frankfurt!!! Good luck with the move!!!
