Seriously, WTH!

Still nothing from the ute. No period, not a sign of it either. Even when I first came off bcp and my period was "irregular" it still showed up, then stopped, then started again. But it's never not showed up at all, and never over a full week late.

Still negative on the HPT. Google has me running on two assumptions, one is pregnant with low hCG level (which is apparently not uncommon??), the other is eptopic. I'm running with the first one for now, but this is really frustrating!

Re: Seriously, WTH!

  • When I came off BCP it took three months and a dose of hormones to get the period going.  Occasionally my period just decides to be antisocial and show up late.  My period is just a *** like that.
Until you are happy with who you are, you will never be happy with what you have.
  • Hope you get an answer soon!

This. It's a big pain in the butt.

  • Do you know when you ovulated, Motzie?  Like are you actually charting temps with using your OPKs?

I'm not taking my temp, just using the ovulation strips and comparing that to an online calendar. That was 3 weeks ago.

Also, even though nothing on the HPT, I used a ovulation strip today and it showed up dark, even though I'm clearly not ovulating.

  • But you COULD be ovulating.  Your body can gear up to O, giving you a positive on the OPK, but then it could not actually ovulate due to a variety of reasons (stress, sickness, etc).  If you got a positive OPK today you and your H should bang it out just in case.  (I learned an awful lot from the GP board)

  • Have you read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" yet?

It will help explain everything.  And then you'll know more than you've ever wanted to know about your own body!

Seriously, though, its a really good read.

    Good luck!!

  • How can I be ovulating again, 3 weeks later, without a period in between? This is seriously erratic for my cycle. I have no stress to explain this away. Totally going to go bang anyway.

My philosophy was (and still is, just for fun) "when in doubt, bang it out."  You can't really go wrong with it.

  • Taking Charge of your Fertility is a really good book, I agree Geek.

And Motzie should know it.  She's been around here long enough to know and already have a copy of the book!

    Get on it, woman!!!

  • I think "when in doubt, bang it out" is going to be my new motto.

So yeah, bang it out, it can't hurt, right? And get with the program, Motzie's ute!!

I have not had my period in 60 days with neg on 4 HPT, when I went to the doctor she said that low hCG is common and can be figured out with blood work. (I am in Canada so it doesn't cost to go to the Doc, but it may be worth it for you to get the blood work done once you hit 60 days). I had the blood work on Thursday late in the day so I will not get the results until Monday as Fridasy was a holiday. :( the wait sucks!

  • Do you know what DPO (Days Past Ovulation) you are? Do you chart?

I didn't get my BFP until something like 14 or 15 DPO. I did chart though. Some girls can get it at 9 DPO though. Could you just be off on your ovulation date? Or are you shooting in the dark?

I certaintly hope that it is just slow rise of hormone and NOT ectopic. If you feel any severe cramping or pain go to the ER right away. I'm not kidding, you can lose a tube or die that way.

Fingers crossed for you Motzie. Yes

  • Thanks awick, but holy hell, 60 days! If I don't get my period by Wednesday, I'm calling my dr. Betty, I've been using ovulation strips and charting with Yourddays. DPO is 21. I had some mild cramping on my left side earlier this week. Nothing major though.
  • Sorry to randomly jump in- I used to be a TIPer a few years back but haven't been on in a very long time.  I was lurking today. :)

When I went off BCP last year, I had one period, then two months went by without any sign of AF.  I was taking HPT and getting negatives, so I chalked it up to my body trying to regulate itself.   Finally, after two months, a BFP showed up.  My doctor had to do an ultrasound to try to estimate the date of conception, and it had been about a month prior.  And yet, for a few weeks there while I was definitely pregnant, I was getting negatives on the HPTs.

It would be worth going to your doctor just to have them test.

An OPK only tells you when your body is producing the hormone that precedes ovulation. Ovulation may occur 12-36 hours after the positive test.  It's entirely possible for your body to gear up to ovulate but not actually release an egg due to factors like stress, illness, ect. The only way to confirm that you've ovulated, other then an ultrasound, is by temping and charting it.
