Hypothetical DW Question:

I am from Chicago and my family is from Boston.

My wife is from Oregon and her family is from Nicaragua.

We both live in Greenland.

Our friends are mostly spread out with the biggest group being 20% in Miami.

My family is a big Irish family with a huge number of people say 60% of the guest list.

We decide to have the wedding in Boston.

Is this a destination wedding?  (Y/N only)

Re: Hypothetical DW Question:

  • I'm pretty sure this horse has been beaten over and over again...

Why don't you post this as your real name? This is so odd.

  • Why does it matter?

I'm grew up in Virginia -- my parents still live there, but the rest of my family is all spread out.  My fiance is from Miami, but most of his family lives in Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale.  We live in the UK.  The wedding is in my hometown (where my parents live) in VA.  The ONLY people who won't be traveling to this wedding are my parents.   I do NOT consider it a "desitination wedding" as it's in my hometown, and I know most of my vendors personally from growing up there.  But I do appreciate the fact that everyone (including me and my fiance) is going to have to travel to get there, and believe it or not, it is definitely the most convenient place to have the wedding, both for us and for our families.

Who cares if it's techncially a "destination wedding" or not?
