Hi there,
I'm new to the boards and found the NYC board, so hello! 
I am a native New Yorker, my husband and I will celebrate our 1-year anniversary on November 15, but we have been together for ten.
I am a wedding cake designer at a bakery in NYC (I used to be a pastry chef); the hubs is a chef.

We're in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. I'm a grad student at NYU, doing dance education. DH works at NYU and has his own theatre company. We had our 3rd anniversary at the end of September.

@meggiednm We are renting a loft in South Bronx, one stop in after 125th; the neighborhood is surprisingly awesome! The rent prices are amazing for the size, our neighbors are all super-nice; we hang out at least once a week with one or more neighbors for dinner/coffee/drinks. Mostly newlyweds and artists in the neighborhood, some cute local restaurants and watering holes. Your hubby has his own theatre company? That is so awesome! Are you a dancer (I figured since you're studying dance ed)? Thanks for the welcome!

I don't know about designing...I'm not that good.
I could definitely roll out fondant, ice a cake or make flowers! Whose kidding who...I'll just sample everything that is baked! LOL No seriously, I have absolutely no professional experience in cake decorating...just love to do it for fun. I would not be an asset to their company what-so-ever. hehe But, I'm sure it would be fun to be there regardless. ooh, and thank you for the compliment on my daughter!
