Update: Recipe suggestions? Heavy Cream
I have 8 oz of heavy cream that will expire this week and i can't think of anything to make with it. Please suggest your recipes! Savory or sweet, only requirement is that it's vegetarian or can be vegetarianized. We have a reasonably well-stocked pantry, esp. in terms of spices and baking supplies. Bonus points if it's a seasonal recipe.

Update:
I used half of it for a simplified (and smaller!) version of the Bolognese, using homemade garden tomato sauce and vegetarian sausage. It was quite good.
The other half went into chocolate mousse.

This is a favorite in my family. We got the recipe from Scott's Bar and Grill... It is sooooo yummy!
Rigatoni Bolognese
1 lb Rigatoni
Meat Sauce
4 cups Whipping Cream
? tsp Salt
? tsp Black Pepper
8 tsp Minced Garlic
8 Tbsp Butter
Heat large skillet over medium heat. Add butter, garlic salt, and cook lightly for 1-2 minutes or until garlic is soft. Do not brown garlic. Add whipping cream and heat to low boil, reducing cream by ?. Add meat sauce, blending into cream mixture and heat thoroughly. Sauce should be thick and creamy. Add cooked pasta, mix thoroughly. Transfer to heated plate. Garnish with grated fresh Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
Meat Sauce
1 lb Ground Beef
1 lb Italian Sausage
? tsp Hot red chili peppers, dried
3 cups chopped, drained tomatoes
2/3 cup Parsley, chopped
2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
? cup Roasted red bell peppers (cut into ? in. strips)
1 tsp Oregano, dried, whole
1 tsp Salt
? Fresh ground black pepper
? cup Olive Oil
Preheat large frying pan over medium heat. Sprinkle ? tsp. of salt over bottom of pan ? to aid in browning and prevent meat from sticking. Add sausage and ground beef a little at a time. Meat should sizzle and smoke. Let meat brown on one side then stir. Cook to medium rare and drain off excess fat. Add all other ingredients (except olive oil). Simmer uncovered about 30 minutes until flavors blend and sauce thickens. Stir in olive oil to bind sauce.

i use heavy cream for making spinach-stuffing type stuff.... i never really use recipies, but what i would do is use it to cook chopped spinach (i would normally stuff in chicken, but portobello mushrooms work, too) add some mozzerella cheese, a little garlic, a little onion...maybe some red bell pepper..a little salt, pepper. or add lots'o'cheese and make a spinach dip.
or italian sodas (cremosa). yum. i love italian sodas.

I'm more of a baked-goods kind of girl. How about some Oatmeal Scones, assuming you either will eat eggs or have a preferred egg substitute?
