Now that it's snowed.. winter gear and kid shovels?

Has anyone seen neck gators for kids that aren't terribly expensive? I'm thinking that would be easier than trying to keep a scarf on Nicholas.

Also, Thinsulate (or similar) gloves for women that aren't so tiny and don't cost an arm and a leg? I apparently have huge hands, though mens' gloves are too big.

And last, kid-sized shovels?

  • Not much help on any of your questions, but perhaps the shovel.  G plays with a small shovel with an expandable shovel.  My dad bought it for me to keep in my car probably more than ten years ago.  I am sure he would have gotten at Menard's, WalMart or a farm store.  Of course I can't ask him....  Anyway while having a practical use it is also kid friendly.

  • In the past Kohl's has had a decent selection of women's gloves, including Thinsulate. (I haven't looked this year yet.)

  • I can help on the shovel!  We bought two kids size ones at Menards last year.  They aren't sturdy by any means, but Sophia has a blast with hers.  In fact, we just came in from her "scooping" the driveway with it.  They had lots of colors too.

  • We went to Active Endeavors last year - they had tons of kids sizes and really warm stuff. since it was a better quality than we usually get - we can use most of it again this year! good luck.

  • In the Menards ad today they had kid shovels.  B has one and loves using it.  He helped shovel our recent snow before it melted :)
