I ordered bulk wipes from diapers.com. They don't come in a reusable container. Can I just go to the store, get one of the containers of wipes and when I use those just open these and pop them in that way? Will they still come out like they should without having to open the container each time?
I'm planning on stocking up on size 1 and 2 diapers between now and the baby. When should I stop? I know she will be in these for awhile I'm assuming. I don't wanna go overboard though.
I currently use Tide original with our clothes. I'm getting some clothes here and there already and want to wash them up and put them away to be done with them. Typically is Tide okay to wash them in? Tide seems to work with my dry skin and doesn't make me itch so that's why i ask.
I'm sorry I keep asking questions. But I trust everyone here so thats why I ask
This is becoming more real every day finally and so I hardly sleep at night thinking about all the things I need to "know" about having a child! Its crazy!
Re: Some more questions.....Gotta learn from the best :)
Yes, the tubs of wipes are made to be able to keep buying refills and reusing the tub so you'll be fine. They will still come out of the top like normal because of the way they are folded.
I started with a "free and clear" like ALL with the kids. Just because of the scents in regular detergents, I wanted to make sure the baby's skin was ok and not irritated. Eventually, I switched to our regular detergent on everyone's clothes (we use Tide original, that way I can use it on diapers too
)
Ditto Holly on the wipes. Detergent, it depends on how sensitive your/baby's skin is. The only person in our house who can use anything with scents in it is my husband. Everyone else has to use all natural detergent, the girls get INSANE eczema if they even lay on a blanket washed in Tide or other commercial detergents.
I would start with the free and clears and go from there.
Honestly, I would avoid stocking up on too much of one brand. You don't know if you are even going to like them, they will fit your baby right, your baby could have a reaction to them, etc.
My DS had a horrible reaction to both LUVS and the Pampers with Dry Max. This was after he had worn LUVS without issue before. I don't know if they changed the formula or not, but my nephew had the same issue. The doctor kept treating it as a yeast rash, but it wasn't clearing up. I told them to switch diapers and it cleared up right away.
Anyway, I would only buy a couple packs and go from there.
Yea, that's a good point. The only ones that we were able to use were Pampers and Target brand. I tried the others (luvs & huggies) and he leaked through like crazy with them. I understand wanting to stock up...I remember feeling that way, and I still do some times when it comes to clothes, shoes, etc. But I'm learning more and more that sometimes you end up wasting money when you were trying to save money. The same goes for wipes really, there are only 2 brands of wipes that I will use. Some are too thin, some smell gross, etc etc. You're probably better off just putting that money in an envelope or a separate savings account instead of buying an excessive amount of everything right now.
We didn't stock up either, and I'm glad we didn't. He leaked through Luvs and the Huggies Pure & Natural. He's been fine with the regular Huggies, but now he's having explosive poops, so we're going to try Pampers when these are gone and see if that solves the problem!
We stocked up on other stuff (like cleaning supplies) that we knew we would need instead. That way the cost of diapers wasn't quite as big a shock to the system!
