A couple of Cricut questions...

Before anyone goes recommending the Silhouette or any other machine, thanks anyway, but I am going to get a Cricut. About 5 of my friends have them, and already swap carts, so I'm not looking to get any other brand.

My 1st question is has anyone ever cut the 'stickers' (not sure what they're called) that are ironed on to clothing. Is that silk screen? Not sure. If you have done it or can confirm that it can be done with a Cricut, please tell me what this is called. I hope that makes sense lol!

My 2nd question is about the Imagine. Does anyone have it? How does it compare to the Expression. I know it prints. Wal-Mart will have this one on sale for Black Friday and I'm debating whether or not to get the Imagine or the Expression.

Thank you so much for your input!

Re: A couple of Cricut questions...

  • You can do iron on transfers fairly easily, just get the paper and cut it out.

I debated about getting the Imagine, but it wasn't worth the extra money/upkeep that it would take so I just went with the expression.  If I want something colored, I will color it in myself afterwords, but I usually leave things with just the plain paper.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • There is iron on vinyl that you can cut on your machine to iron on.  You could also do freezer paper stencils.

I don't know much about the imagine and agree with the PP it wasn't worth the price of ink and the extra carts to me.

  • do you plan on using a gypsy, design studio or cricut craft room? are you going to get the expression or expression 2? i personally wouldn't rec the imagine, but that's based 100% off of what i've heard from friends at crops and what i've read on the cricut message boards

  • I love my Cricut and wouldn't recommend the Imagine either.  I haven't heard anything good and the cost of ink is crazy.  I mean, who really needs to print a page of patterned paper when you can just buy it?

  • I like my expression. I know nothing about the imagine. I like having the cartridge system, I don't spend a lot on cartridges when I buy them. I get most of my card stock paper for very cheap w/ coupons from Archiver's and Hobby Lobby-no need for a printer system.
