I remember talking about this the past 2 winters as a possible solution to the issue with cold temps and carseat safety. I know a couple of more handy ladies have made some themselves, but I don't have that type of ambition, so thankfully i found some really cute/cheap ones! Costco has adorable little ponchos (pretty sure they had boys too) for $12.99 that have hoods, which especially appealed to me. Seemed like a good deal since it would certainly cost me more than that in my gas/time/fabric to make my own (and heaven knows there is no way i'd figure out the hood thing myself).
I bought the girls matching (of course) leopard print ones that have pink ruffles and a pink flower on them. We tried them out on the way home and they worked great for keeping them warm in the parking lot but safe in the car (since they go over the belts rather than under). Thought I'd pass it along in case anyone was looking for a cheap solution to the safety issue.
