Ugh - Need to Food Detox......

In the weeks following my dad's death, I have really been bad - eating a lot of salty, not so good for you food.  This last weekend we went to NC to see MIL and barely a green crossed my plate.  Almost everywhere we went had fried food (we went to a seafood restaurant yesterday (I don't eat any seafood) and literally the only things I could get was chicken tenders and hush puppies.

We are back now and needless to say I feel bloated and overall icky!  I am having my fiber one ceral this morning and plan to drink loads of water (I was drinking predominately diet Pepsi the last three weeks).

Other suggestions?

  • Water, water, water.  Any way you can hit up a salad bar today and load up on fresh veggies?  Whenever I feel like I need to food detox, I go to a salad bar and make myself a colorful salad.

  • I know that feeling of just general grossness due to less than ideal eating. Ugh. Honestly, the only thing that really feels like it cleanses me is exercise and sweating. Going to the gym/running a few days in a row really helps me feel better, and gives me back the energy that all those yucky foods seemed to have sucked out of me.

Oh, yes.  There is a salad in my future for lunch and possibly even dinner!

  • Fiber and water are a good place to start!

Big green salads always make me feel better after a bad binge. Exercise, if you have the energy for that.
