i wanted to strangle andrea. what a moron! the guys were already there and if it were a walker they could have taken care of it w/o making a big noise. she shot into a group of people! she could have just as easily hit one of the other guys in the back. i hope she finally gets what she wants and dies.
so glad daryl is okay. i'm really start to like him. but, he has been re-using the same arrow. do you think it's contaminated? hopefully this will just be an oversight and daryl will be fine.
happy that they revealed what's inside the barn. now maybe there will be a little more friction between the groups and the story can pick up.
oh, and fuucking leave sophia in the woods! move on! rick is putting everyone in danger by continuing to go out there. cut your losses and all that.

Re: Walking Dead *spoilers*
Ditto to the Andrea stuff. Off yourself already and stop being such a drag. Also, it would have pissed me off if she left me with extra work just because she didn't "feel like" doing laundry anymore. I'm all for feminism, but clearly she's not right for the "protector" role.
I kind of want Herchel's daughter to pack up and go with them when/if they leave the farm. He is getting more douchey as this goes on.
I'm not sure how much time has really passed here. Is there any possibility that Lorrie's baby isn't Rick's? Not like they can go get a paternity test, but I'm still curious.
The Sophia story line was dead three episodes ago. At this point, they better make it GOOD when they find that girl. Like she's a walker and she bites the hell out of Andrea, or maybe that she's found some super secret underground protection bunker. Something awesome.
Pretty sure the baby is Shane's.
I liked the scene in the beginning that showed how the group started to come together - and what was going on in Atlanta. Somewhat surprising that Atlanta was bombed since every time they headed into the city, I don't recall seeing that kind of destruction.
The barn scene - I had heard there was some big secret that Herschel's group was hiding. I was sort of figuring it was grislier - like in The Road (ick!). I can't say I understand what the point of keeping the zombies around is. Were they unable to kill them? Are they planning on feeding the new group to the zombies if they don't leave at some point? I don't get it. I don't know why you would want to keep them in such close proximity. I also can't say I understand why this area (other than the barn) seems to be so zombie free. They aren't that far out in the sticks...
Anyway. Another episode where not a lot happens other than the slow deterioration of the sanity of the group... Watching the trailer for this week's episode, it seemed like there was going to be a lot more action. Kind of disappointing that there wasn't.
ETA: And re: Daryl and the arrow - yes, I would assume that arrow was contaminated. But it somehow seems like he made it through unharmed...hmmm...not sure I buy that.

yes! i also really enjoyed the beginning and wish they would show more stuff like that. my H said that if it was napalm it wouldn't have necessarily damaged any buildings (b/c i asked the same question, if they bombed it whey weren't there crumbling buildings?) he said that it basically takes up all the oxygen in the area and can pull oxygen for miles, so people would basically suffocate. maybe that is how a lot of people on the highway died in their cars later on?
I'm guessing those zombies are their family members - and they're keeping them there in case a cure is discovered.
i think it was like a trophy necklace. but at one point (i think after andrea shot him) they fell into his mouth!
This was my first guess as well.
Ugh. Don't know why I didn't think of that. I think that's the only plausible reason.

This was my first thought too. Since Herschel is a doctor maybe he thought once a cure is found that he can save them. I would think it would be too dangerous to keep them in the barn. Even though there's locks, it seems like Zombies can break into/out of places eventually if they hear/smell humans.
I agree! I wish they showed more of that then all this character drama! I LOVED the beginning and I can't say I've LOVED anything about this show in a while.
At this point, I think I just need to get over my disappointments with the show and either deal with it and continue watching or just stop.
I did some online research on the walking dead wiki and apparently the show is following the comic books pretty exactly thus far {minus some few character changes, additions, etc}. I read a basic synopsis of what happens and I'm not a fan.... they're more about the drama between characters than about the zombies, what happened, etc.
From what I've read online so far {and I can be totally wrong because let's face it, I got the info over the Internet}, there's never really an "answer," or a TON of zombies, blowing cities up, no major search for answers, etc, like I had hoped the show would be like. I guess I was more thinking of hoping a series of I Am Legend? and not just about the characters and the drama that ensues between them.
I really like this series. I'm not into horror/sci fi kind of genre's which is why I skipped the first season. But I caught a little of this season and I loved it. So I went back and watched the first season. I think I like it because it does focus on the people and how their relationships change and evolve to this new world and not just focus on zombies.
I agree about Andrea though. I really didn't like her very much and her shooting at Darryl was just stupid.
I'm curius to see how the group deals with the news of the zombies in the barn and how Hershel will react once he knows they know.
I really hope they wrap up the sofia storyline somehow.
I was curious about Darryl's arrow too and if it would be contaminated. Also the zombie ear trophy necklace seemed like a bad idea too also for contamination reasons.
In 28 Days Later they were keeping them around to see how long it would take them to die without food. I wouldn't rule out experimentation.
I can't see any reason why Rick would be in a hurry to move on. It's the safest they've been since the beginning, barn inhabitants aside. Where would they go? You've ruled out Atlanta - what's left within an easy distance?
They were heading to Ft. Benning when they lost Sophia. Shane even mentioned that they'd be half-way there if they weren't still looking for the girl. And I don't think Rick is in a hurry to leave, but he understands that Hershel wants them gone, so it makes sense to get on with it. No point in overstaying their "welcome" if it's just going to mean coming to blows with the resident family.
I think Daryl was *reasonably* good about cleaning his arrows after killing walkers (I know last season we saw him wiping them off, especially since he used them for hunting for food too). Granted a good thorough sterilization would probably be better, but given the circumstances ... He's a fan favorite, so it's very unlikely they're going to infect him with a waylaid arrow and kill him off in the foreseeable future.
