KitchenAid Mixer

Does anybody have a KitchenAid Stand Mixer? I want to get one on Black Friday, but not sure which model to get. Any feeback would be helpful.

Thanks!

Re: KitchenAid Mixer

  • I have one. Love it. I use it a lot!

I'd get one with a glass bowl so you can melt/soften butter in the micro. If possible, I prefer the stainless steel paddle/blade but plastic is probably fine too.

One that tips up as opposed to one that has a handle to raise and lower the bowl might be nicer too. I have the raise/lower model and I always end up diping the paddle back into the dough getting the bowl off the peg. Not a big deal but if you have a choice...

We also have the ice cream attachment (among others) and really like that!

  • No experience, but Costco has them for $50off... if you'd like me to check prices let me know, I can run over on work next week!
  • I have the bowl lift pro, 6 qt., and love everything about it. I love the bigger bowl... I can't imagine having a smaller one - some of my recipes fill up the bowl completely!

  • I have a large 6 qt one that has the bowl lift that I love! My parents have the one with the smaller bowl that attaches by twisting into the base. They have had it a while so I am not sure it is the way Kitchen Aid still makes them but it can be frustrating to make sure the bowl is attached tightly. I like that mine fits onto the holders and then snaps in place on mine. There is never a question of the bowl being attached. I also like that mine doesn't tip. Depending on your cupboard height the ones that tip may not be able to be opened unless pulled way out or moved to a table.

  • I have the Artisan and LOVE it.  I'm actually going to be looking for one on Black Friday for MIL as her mixer finally died (after 20+ years!).
