Dog Boarding
I know this is asked alot, and apparently I don't pay attention. We're thinking of going out of town for Thanksgiving. And need to board Ithaca, can anyone recommend a good place? I'd like to stay close to Des Moines area as possible.
Also, does anyone know if places charge by size of dog? Ithaca is an English Masstiff. She's a big teddy bear.

I have had 4 Paws Unleashed and Raccoon River Kennels recommended to me before. We have not used them yet as we have not needed to for boarding, but I have been to 4Paws for a rescue event and the staff seemed very nice. Usually places do charge by size. There is usually a charge for small dogs and one for large dogs.
Also I would probably start calling places ASAP. I am guessing that many places are already full for the holiday weekend. We would usually fill up weeks in advance for the holidays when I worked at veterinary clinics.
This. Where I brought my dogs for daycare, the owner would tell me he'd be filled up for Thanksgiving/Christmas a month in advance. GL!
