Boardwalk 11/13 *spoilers*

There was a lot happening in this episode. And with only 4 episodes left it looks like a lot more is going to be happening.

DH and I have been trying to figure out what Nucky's plan is. There has to be a plan as to why he stepped down as treasurer. I wonder why he wants to meet with Mr. Mcsomething (I can't think of his name) in Ireland.

Owen looked like he wanted to crap his pants when Nucky asked him if he met up with a friend from Ireland. Ha!

Jimmy is getting pretty unpredictable. I don't know if he thinks he has to be to show the others that he's not soft. Which is why he threw Mickey off the balcony. I wonder if this is going to create bad blood between him and the guy from Philidelphia.

Did anyone else feel like Richard is becoming really distant from Jimmy? At the party he looked like he disapproved with what Jimmy was saying.

I know Angie will keep Jimmy's secrets but I wonder if she is going to try to leave again.

  • I'm still confused with why Nucky would step down (and if I'm remembering correctly from Nucky Johnson whom he's based off of, didn't he stay as Treasurer till he went to jail for tax evasion?). I'm sure the writers only want to stay loosely tied to him for though so they have more freedom in their writing. I think Nucky is looking to sell all of the extra guns to someone Owen has a connection with in the IRA.

I wonder with Richard if he is struggling with Jimmy's decision to kill someone who was a father figure to him, especially since he's so preoccupied with having his own family.

This season has been so good! I love how all of the characters have so much depth and aren't always easy to figure out. Definitely one of the best shows on TV right now.

This. I think after Rothstein talked with Nucky about how sometimes it's best to not do anything and to just take opportunities as they come, Nucky decided to step down and is going to start dealing guns to that Irish guy Owen knows.

Jimmy has really gone nuts. I think it's just the power that he has now and I think he feels insecure about his position so he is acting rash so that he doesn't appear "soft."

I feel bad for Richard. He seems to be very loyal and felt a connection to Jimmy initially because they were both soldiers, got injured, etc. I think Richard is envious of Jimmy having a family and feels bad that he sees that Jimmy doesn't seem to appreciate what he has. That scene in a previous episode where Richard was flipping through that book he made with all the cutouts of families was so sad. I hope that at the very least Jimmy does treat him well and that he is able to find someone to make a family with.

I wonder if Lucy will make another appearance this season?

I agree about Jimmy. I was watching the "Inside the Episode" and they talked about how Jimmy finally has the power he wanted but it's bittersweet b/c he doesn't really want to deal with it.

The also went into detail about the dream sequence. The glove represented the time his father I think beat Nucky for not doing something about his glove being stolen. The little boy with the bloody hand represented Jimmy and the deer was symbolic of the statue of the hunters & deer that Nucky had given Jimmy.

I hope Lucy comes back this season. I'd also like to see Van Alden's wife again.

  • I agree with the pp's theory that Nucky wants to sell guns to the IRA (or the predecessor of the IRA) guy.  I want him to find out about Margaret and Owen.  But the poor guy can handle only so much right now.  I feel badly for Nucky because I think he genuinely feels love for Margaret and her 2 kids but Margaret does not return her love for Nucky.

I also feel that Richard is questioning Jimmy, his motives and judgment calls.  I don't think Richard will abandon Jimmy, he is too loyal, but something has got to give for Richard.

I wish we saw more of Chalky White.  I love his character and I hope he organizes a strike against all the business owners in AC.

I loved the scene where Nucky met with Arnold Rothstein and Johnny Torrio at the armory.  I'm starting to like AR more and his advice to Nucky was brilliant.

Van Alden is still skimming money and digging himself deeper.  I also feel that he has fundamentally changed from the first season and rationalizes wrongdoing where he used to be so absolute before.

I can't believe there's only 4 shows left in this season, boo!
