Share your LASIK experience?

I had LASIK on Friday and am back at work today. I know that it will take some time to adjust and heal, but I was wondering about other people's experiences? My vision is 20/40 now, but it's still very hazy and sometimes fuzzy. I know that this is expected, but I'm curious how long this phase lasted for other people? I'm a graphic designer, and it's REALLY HARD to work right now.

TIA!

  • I didn't personally have it, but my husband had it done when we first met. I think he said he woke up from a nap later in the evening after the surgery and he could see crystal clear.

I hope you're able to see clearly soon!

  • It's common and normal....  It took DH's a couple of weeks and everything became super clear for him.  Just keep doing the drops and wear the "cool" sunglasses.  It will clear up.

  • I had it almost 10 years ago and I was fine within a couple of hours. You probably just need to keep your eyes lubricated with the drops. It's normal.
  • Had it seven years ago and saw crystal clear that evening.  I still use eye drops everyday because my doctor said keeping your eyes moist and lubricated was key to long lasting success with the surgery.

  • I had PRK so they had to make a hole in my cornea vs. pulling the flap aside and then replacing it. Regardless, your cornea has to heal. I stayed home from work for a week and had to take pain meds. My vision got better and better over weeks and even months, especially at night. When it wasn't quite perfect after a year, I went in for a touch up and the healing process went much faster that time.

  • I had it done 7 years ago at LasikPlus. My vision was 20/400 (pretty bad, right?). It took 5 minutes for both eyes and my vision was perfectly clear after. My vision corrected to about 20/15. In the past year, my right eye has gotten slightly worse at about 20/30, but they offer lifetime corrections so at some point I may get it redone.
