Losing sex drive?

So FI and I have had an up and down sex relationship. I have hormonal problems that aren't serious (according to doctor about a year or two ago), but definitely affect my sex drive. Especially when I'm stressed. So we'll be doing great (about 2-3 times a week) and then it just dies (maybe 1 time every other week).

I have a benign (ms?) cyst in my "lady areas" that's aggravates me sometimes. I have pretty spotty bleeding in between periods and get cramps. So when FI wants to instigate sex, I have to let him know its not a good time because every time we try do have sex when I'm cramping, its painful so we have to stop. This causes me to feel guilty because he's crazy horny and I can't continue. At the risk of TMI, I'm not too into blowjobs and my hand usually just doesn't cut it at that point for him.

Add to that, the fact that I've just started a new job that scares me to death because I'm worried I won't be good at it. So now I'm working two jobs, the holidays are coming up so I've got three families in my ear, FI loathes his job so he's not in a great mood, and we're po'. *sigh*

Sooo... no sex of course puts up both in a foul mood. What can i do? I really want to do something but I'm at a loss. Plus, neither FI nor I have health insurance so I can't just go to the doctor for a quick fix. (Although I'm trying to get into the free clinic nearby...)

Advice for me?

Re: Losing sex drive?

  • I suggest you see a different doc and get a complete checkup.

Report the bleeding in between periods and the cramping; cramping when it's about time for your period is normal; so is pain during ovulation.  Any cramping at any other time merits a doctor's opinion (and a possible battery of tests as a just in case precaution -- my doc suggested a transvaginal ultrasound and a hysteroscopy)

Please keep an eye on that cyst; I had a mass, also and it turned out the doc wanted it removed; it was about 3" big. They can indeed get larger; it all has to do with reaction to hormones.

See a doc; don't let the cyst interfere with your quality of life. Good luck.
